NBA Finals 2025: Siakam's Pacers stumble as Thunder level series.

Cameroonian basketball star, Pascal Siakam, and his club Indiana Pacers, stumbled in the 2025 NBA Finals as rivals, Oklahoma City Thunder, levelled the series.

Siakam and his teammates suffered the setback after losing 123-107 to the Thunder in game 2 of the NBA Finals. The game took place yesterday at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, United States of America, USA.

After taking the lead in the Best of 7 Series with a 111-110 victory over Oklahoma City Thunder on Game 1, Siakam's Pacers were looking to extend their lead with another vital win to keep them on course to the title.

But their plans backfired. Siakam was not at his usual best. The Cameroonian scored 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists. His record was the third highest for the Pacers, and the overall seventh of both teams combined.

Unlike the first game, Siakam and his teammates could not produce a comeback to defeat their rivals. Instead, the Thunder dominated the entire game from start to finish.

The host, who lost in the last second of the game during Game 1 to the Pacers, drew the positives from the defeat and respected a formula they have used all season: lose one game, respond in the next.

This was evident as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 34 points, Alex Caruso added 20 off the bench and the Thunder beat the Pacers to tie these Finals at one game apiece. It was the franchise’s first finals game win since the opener of the 2012 series against Miami.

Game 3 of the best-of-seven series shall take place on Thursday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse at Indianapolis, in what will be the first finals game in that city in 25 years.

Siakam and his teammates have a chance to restore their lead to remain firmly in the race for the NBA title this year. Siakam, who was named the Eastern Conference Finals MVP, is eyeing his second NBA title. The three-time NBA All-Star and two-time All-NBA selection won the NBA Championship with the Toronto Raptors in 2019.
