USA: Lioness, Myriam Nyadjou, presented at Kansas City Current.

Indomitable Lionesses defender, Myriam Maëva Nyadjou Wamen, has been presented to the public by her new club, Kansas City Current in the United States of America.

The 19-year-old was presented by the team over the weekend as Kansas City Current braces for its National Women's Soccer League game against Denver Summit Football Club.

Shortly after the presentation, the youngster went on to begin training with the US women’s topflight football championship team, joining the group of Kansas City Current players who went on to humiliate Denver Summit Football Club 4-1 in the league last Saturday.

“I am Maëva Nyadjou. I am very happy to be here in Kansas City and I am looking forward to joining my teammate to start my new season with them and KC Baby,” the defender stated in a short video following her presentation.

Nyadjou is expected to make her debut for Kansas City Current on Saturday October 3 at the CPKC Stadium.

That will when Kansas City outfit which is presently ranked seventh on the league standing with four matches to go, hosts 13th-placed Bay Football Club on matchday 27.

Kansas City Current signed Nyadjou on September 3 from Amazone FAP of Yaounde for a three-year deal that is expected to run until 2029.

The transfer was completed just two weeks after Nyadjou helped Cameroon to secure the winner’s crown at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

“I am very happy to begin a new adventure with the Kansas City Current. Playing in the NWSL has always been a dream of mine, and I look forward to training with and competing against some of the best players in the world,” the youngster who was named the Best Young Player and included in the Team of the Tournament at the 2026 WAFCON tournament, said at the time.

Kansas City Current General Manager Ryan Dell said in a statement at the time that Kansas City Current was attracted to the Cameroonian defender by the rich potential that she demonstrates, including her feat of scoring the lone goal when Cameroon downed giants Nigeria in the quarterfinals of the continental championship in Morocco in August.

“We are pleased to welcome Maëva to Kansas City and have her join what we’re building. She is coming off a remarkable WAFCON tournament where she was a key part of Cameroon’s historic success. Maëva is a young talent who is only getting started, and we are excited to help her develop,” the GM said.

Nyadjou is one of three Indomitable Lionesses who are now plying their trade in the US women’s topflight football championship.

She is joined on the list by forward Naomi Eto and midfielder Monique Ngock who were both also a part of the group of Indomitable Lionesses team that won the 2026 Women’s AFCON and also earned Cameroon’s qualification tickets to the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Monique Ngock joined Washington Spirit barely two weeks to the start of the 2026 WAFCON in July while Eto was signed by Denver Summit Football Club from Paris Saint Germain Women days after Kansas City secured the services of defender Nyadjou.

Nyadjou’s arrival at Kansas City Current was delayed by procedures to obtain visa.
