Musonge tells SW CPDM elite: Be ready to fund Biya’s presidential campaign.

Musonge delivered the message in Buea on May 31. This was during a meeting of South West CPDM elite. 

Also in attendance was the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute. Musonge said the election will be the most important in a generation, and thus, the supporters must be ready to match their words with actions to ensure a massive victory for their party.

He charged all to go back to their Divisions, Subdivisions, villages and quarters to ensure that all supporters and sympathisers of the party are registered on the electoral register. 

The voter’s card, he said, is a tool that every friend of the party must possess to make their voices heard.

Given the exigencies of the moment, Musonge reminded his comrades that the time to sleep was over and that now was the time for action. 

He said the South West Region is one of the most blessed regions of the country and must maintain such a position by voting for continuity with Biya.

PM says major projects gov’t priority 

Addressing militants during the meeting, the Prime Minister, Head of Government, a special guest during the meeting, said the government was working to ensure all major projects in the region are realised. 

He highlighted the Limbe Deep Seaport, Kumba-Ekondo-Titi and Kumba-Mamfe road, revitalisation of the CDC and Pamol, amongst other key projects.

CPDM SW endorses Biya for 2025 presidential 

During the meeting, the elite officially endorsed President Paul Biya as their choice for October presidential election.

The endorsement of Biya was done with the blessings of the Region’s traditional rulers. 

Speakers at the event said the South West remains confident that Biya has what it takes to address its challenges.

They cited what they said is President Biya's visionary leadership and achievements in promoting national unity, economic growth, and infrastructure development in the South West Region and across Cameroon as strong enough for him to seek another mandate.

Lectures on achieving victory

The meeting featured presentations on how to mobilise party supporters to massively participate during the election. 

Professor Ngolle Ngolle drilled stakeholders on the stakes of the South West Region in the upcoming poll while Paul Tasong hammered on ways and means of funding CPDM electoral activities. 

Mengot Victor Arrey Nkongho, on his part, dwelt on the rallying call for a transparent and unambiguous landslide victory of the CPDM in the South West Region.

The endorsement of Biya’s candidacy by CPDM elite in the South West Region follows a similar step by some young people in the Region who contributed five million FCFA to support the 92-year-old in paying his caution. Colin Ebarko Mukete is said to have supported the holding of the meeting with 10 million FCFA.
