Njang Mengu Colins, popularly known as Kocee

Serial hit maker, Njang Mengu Colins, popularly known as Kocee, has called on the population to register and vote massively in this year’s presidential election. The artiste and songwriter made the call through a video posted on his official social media pages on June 2.

In the video, the rapper told the population that voting is a civic responsibility. He insisted that 2025 is the season for everyone of voting age to be actively engaged.

The singer said this is not the time to talk about music but citizenship.

“Well today we are not going to talk about music I want to talk about something else not politics but citizenship,” said Kocee.

He reminded the population that it is their civic right to participate in the electoral process of the country.

Kocee remarked that: “You know the voter’s card is not an option it is a responsibility, a right, a duty and a tool”.

Calling on the population to obtain their voters card, Kocee made a passionate appeal.

“My citizens my brothers and sisters, go to the registration centres closer to you to get your voter’s card, this approach is simple but essential get your voters card sign up today for tomorrow,” he said.

The call from the artiste comes not long after rapper, Jovi, sent out a message calling on the population to massively participate in the election in order to vote for a better future.

The public awareness by the artists has been described by observers as being meant to promote voter participation with barely weeks left for the Head of State, Paul Biya to convene the electorate.

Others have saluted the artists of using their influence in society to boost political awareness and encourage people to register and vote instead of always complaining.
