Douala: CCA Bank, Douala III Council workers clean streets.

The initiative was driven by the bank’s dedication to creating a safer, cleaner, and more sustainable environment for all. 

The Guardian Post gathered that campaign was part of CCA Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR. 

For over six hours, notably from around 8:00a.m. to 1:00p.m., staff of CCA Bank stormed the streets in their numbers and actively took part in cleaning activities. 

The CCA Bank team, we learnt, covered the areas around the Logbaba District Hospital and continued through the industrial zone amongst other places. 

The collective effort involved clearing gutters, sweeping streets, and meticulously sorting waste into categories for proper recycling. The activity, which has been widely applauded, demonstrates a model approach to waste management.

According to CCA Bank, the impactful initiative reflects the core values of CCA Bank's CSR policy, which emphasises environmental stewardship, community involvement, and sustainability. 

Speaking on behalf of the bank, the Communication head, Emmanuela Nyoki, described the day as “fun-filled and fulfilling experience”. “It's not just about cleaning for today,” she added. 

Nyoki said “it's about setting an example. We hope citizens, especially parents, will teach their children to properly manage waste”.

“Holding onto a plastic bottle until you reach a bin 100 meters away might seem small, but it's a powerful habit that can help shape the future and reduce the harmful impacts of waste on our environment,” she added. 

Mayor hails CCA Bank

On his part, the Mayor of Douala III, Valentin Epoupa Bossambo, welcomed the CCA Bank team upon completion of the exercise and personally extended his appreciation for the initiative. 

The official praised the bank for its leadership in civic responsibility and called on other companies and institutions to emulate the example.

It is worth mentioning that the clean-up initiative not only contributes to a cleaner Douala but also reinforces the importance of community cooperation in tackling climate change and waste pollution. 

CCA Bank mentioned that they remain committed to similar impactful actions as part of its broader vision for a greener, more responsible Cameroon.
