Rapper, Jovi, drums massive voter registration ahead of October poll.

He called on the population to participate in the election. In the post, the rapper, said: “2025 is the year of the presidential election, register and vote, for a better future for our beautiful country is our duty”. 

The artiste, being the first Cameroonian musician to publicly advocate voter registration, has resonated positive responds from his fans and others who have come out to applaud his move of calling on his fans to register and vote.

The rapper’s call to action has brought out reactions with the population calling on other artists to do same in order to get the young population actively participate in upcoming elections. 

In a comment on the artiste’s Facebook page, Bryan Sama, said “this is exactly what the youth should be preaching, not useless beefs on social media when there are more important things for the future of our fatherland”.

Jovi, known for his socially conscious lyrics, often expresses national unity and civic responsibility in his music. 

In one of his tracks titled ‘God Don Kam’, he stated: “I am not an Anglophone nor a Francophone, I am a Cameroonian”. 

His fan base, known as the Mboko Gang, has also actively engaged in community outreach and humanitarian efforts, reinforcing the artiste's influence beyond music.

With public figures like Jovi using their platforms to promote voter participation, signaling an increasing awareness of civic duties within the entertainment industry, pundits believe the call is going to serve a very important purpose in the coming election due to the artiste’s huge fan base.
