CAMTEL engages health ministry to boost healthcare.

State-owned telecoms giant, Cameroon Telecommunications, CAMTEL, has penned a deal with the Ministry of Public Health to revolutionaries healthcare delivery nationwide.

The deal was sealed in Yaounde on May 6, 2025. 



The General Manager, GM, of CAMTEL, Yah Judith Sunday epse Achidi, signed for her institution, while Dr Manaouda Malachie put pen on paper for the Ministry of Public Health.

Speaking at the event, Dr Manaouda said CAMTEL has what it takes to accompany the Ministry of Public Health in digitalising healthcare nationwide.

Such recognition of CAMTEL’s capacity, its GM said, is a privilege for the company to help in boosting healthcare delivery across the nation.

With the Head of State’s interest in the Universal Health Coverage, UHC, scheme, Achidi Judith said, CAMTEL and the Ministry of Public Health are going to collaborate to effectively address the “challenges linked to the digital transformation of public health service”.

CAMTEL, the General Manager stated, is committed to offering the best of services to help the health ministry meet its objectives.

She declared that CAMTEL has taken “the commitment, under certain conditions and terms, to provide the Ministry of Public Health, with high-speed interconnections, as well as data security solutions and access to Data Centre services”.

Achidi Judith said CAMTEL is a guaranteed partner to provide services and host strategic platforms such as MAMALPRO, Chèque santé and the Universal Health Coverage, within its Tier III certified Data Centre in Zamengoe, a locality in Okola, Lekie Division of the Centre Region.

The CAMTEL General Manager also noted that the deal will address the need for high-quality telecommunications services to ensure efficient and secure access to health services.

She stressed that the partnership goes beyond providing connectivity and hosting services. CAMTEL, she assured, will make available to the Ministry of Public Health its cutting-edge infrastructure to provide specific solutions to healthcare challenges.

The telecoms giant, has in the last couple of years, aligned its vision with the National Development Strategy, 2020-2020, SND30, to boost the structural transformation of the country’s economy.

Besides the Ministry of Public Health, the company, under the leadership of Achidi Judith, has been providing key digital, internet and data services to several public and private institutions in the country and beyond.

Till that, CAMTEL continues to be saluted for updating its infrastructure to assist in the implementation of key government drives. Some of these are; the Computerised Logistics and Payroll Management Application, AIGLES; the Customs Single Clearing Platform, GUCE; the Interconnection of Customs Posts, SIDONIA; the Electronic Tax Declaration, e-Taxation; and the Interconnection of Banks, GIMAC Pay sermon among others.
