SDF 34th anniversary in Mbengwi: Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah braves insecurity, rallies supporters to fete in style.

The unassuming grassroots politician, who is doing his utmost to revive the party at the base, rallied a mammoth crowd of SDF supporters and sympathisers, to celebrate the party in grand style, in the Mbengwi Electoral District, Momo Division of the North West Region. 

Party supporters joined Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah, who doubles as member of the SDF National Executive Committee, NEC. He used the anniversary to also celebrate the legacy of the late charismatic National Chairman of the SDF, Ni John Fru Ndi. 

Echoes of the historic anniversary celebration, amidst alarming threats from separatist fighters, are still reverberating across the North West Region and beyond.

The anniversary celebration, it should be said, came barely days after Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah single-handedly powered the party to steal the show in Mbengwi and Batibo, during celebrations marking the country’s 52^nd National Day.

Amba fighters after SDF supporters 

The SDF bigwig said he had to do his utmost, amidst threats, to revive the party’s activities, to give hope to its supporters. 

He regretted that apart from the party’s traditional opponents, the CPDM, the SDF now faces challenges from Amba fighters. 

“…others who have joined the CPDM to fight the SDF are Amba fighters, who have, throughout, been banning SDF activities and sending threats to SDF supporters,” he regretted.

Reacting further on the threats from the separatist fighters, Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah expressed shock that: “What beats our imagination is how Amba fighters are now closer to the CPDM”. 

“Trying to disrupt and ban SDF activities is an indication that Amba fighters are sympathising with the CPDM of the Yaounde regime; if at all they are not even CPDM themselves,” he stated. 

CPDM supporters decamp to SDF

This year’s SDF’s anniversary celebration in Momo, was marked by a grand rally at the party secretariat. The rally featured speeches from the District Chairman, Mayor Tah George, Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah and that from one time Member of Parliament, Hon Edena Enih Mbah.

Aside speeches, the anniversary also featured gala football encounter between bike riders and the veteran football club of Mbengwi. Tournament participants bagged home handsome cash prizes.

There was also a peaceful walk by party supporters, brandishing peace plants along the streets of Mbengwi. They were accompanied by an impressive motorcade of cars and bike riders. 

Another highpoint of the rally to mark the anniversary was many supporters of the ruling CPDM, apparent fed up with the party’s unfulfilled promises, crossing carpet to the SDF.

Ntumfon Ndangoh Tah calls for peace, drums voter registration 

Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah, it should be said, has spent close to two weeks in Mbengwi, galvanising supporters and sympathisers of the party within his efforts to revive the activities of the party, within the administrative unit. 

Addressing a huge crowd of party supporters, Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah thanked all and sundry for braving the odds and overcoming fear to participate at the National Day celebration and the SDF party anniversary. 

The massive turnout in both occasions, he stated, “is ample evidence that the people are hungry for change and that the people are tired of the status-quo”.

This hunger for change, Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah told supporters, will start with you massively registering on the voter’s register “to have the power to change things”.

“When the SDF says power to the people, it does not mean you fold your hands and stay. You must claim the power by registering and voting,” he added.

He particularly charged youth, not only to massively register on the voter’s list, but to also stand up and claim their rightful place and serve their country while they are young. 

“Fear is the highest weapon the devil uses and anybody who instills fear to scare people is against the people. Take note that power belongs to the people,” he said. 

He also encouraged those still in the bushes carrying arms against the state to “come out, register and vote against the Yaounde regime, if truly they don’t want the Yaounde regime”.

Ntumfon Barrister Ndangoh Tah also encouraged SDF supporters to be another’s keeper and show love, even to the party’s opponents, who are gradually coming back to the SDF.
