CPDM Kupe-Muanenguba III: Section President, Mbulle Valentine, wins 2023 Grassroots Politician Award.

The diehard CPDM party supporter and strategic political reconciliator, who doubles as Treasurer Paymaster General of the East Regional Treasury, was voted winner of 2023 Grassroots Politician of The Year Award. 

He was announced as winner of the prestigious award Saturday February 17. This was during the 21st edition of The Guardian Post Achievement Award ceremony, which took place at Bengo Hotel in Ebolowa, South Region. 

Understanding why Mbulle won the award 

Speaking during the award ceremony in Ebolowa, the President of The Guardian Post Achievement Award jury, Richard Nde Lajong, who doubles as the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief of The Herald Tribune, said Mbulle Valentine emerged winner in the category for his sterling output as a politician within his political base. 

The award jury president disclosed that Mbulle emerged the 2023 Grassroots Politician of The Year for his “innovative strategies and activities that have rekindled and united CPDM Kupe-Muanenguba III Section, revived life and boost return to peace and strengthened social cohesion”. 

Mbulle’s recognition, Nde explained, was based on the assessment of over 18,000 of The Guardian Post’s millions of readers, spread across the globe. 

The annual award initiative, the jury president noted, is to recognise compatriots for their selfless service to the nation and are meant for posterity. 

Nde said the award jury, comprising jurists, renowned journalists and members of the civil society, met several times to catalogue the nominations and choices of the readers before compiling the winners. 

Mbulle expresses gratitude to The Guardian Post 

Reacting after being announced winner of the award, Mbulle Valentine expressed gratitude to the award jury and readers of The Guardian Post, for the recognition, which he said came to him and the executive of CPDM Kupe-Muanenguba III Section “as a big surprise”. 

“It is a great delight to know that our activities in Kupe-Muanenguba III are being monitored by the wider public. It is true that The Guardian Post has reported some of our activities but it never occurred to us that they were keeping track records of our efforts towards consolidating peace, rekindling and uniting the party at base as well as strengthening social cohesion through our annual football competition that brings together militants from all the 46 Subsections,” he said. 

Dedicates award to Kupe-Muanenguba III supporters 

The award, Mbulle said, is not a feat for him alone but fruits of the hard of work militants of the Section. 

“This award is for all the supporters of CPDM in Kupe-Muanenguba III because the grassroots of the party are the supporters. I am just a carrier of the award which belongs to all the supporters of Kupe Muanenguba III,” he said. 

The down-to-earth politician said the “supporters are looking forward to celebrating the award,” which is a symbol of recognition of “their hard work”. 

Appeal to supporters to consolidate party’s achievements 

Mbulle further appealed to Kupe-Muanenguba III supporters to intensify efforts towards consolidating the party’s achievements in Tombel and by extension Kupe-Muanenguba Division as a whole.

“…Tombel is the heartbeat of the Division, having the largest Section,” Mbulle stated, while calling on party comrades to be vigilant and federate forces to block the infiltration of opposition parties. 

Plan to massively register supporters 

The 2024 objective of the Kupe-Muanenguba III Section, Mbulle disclosed, is to massively enrol supporters on the electoral register for upcoming polls. 

“We have set a target and we are taking it very seriously because it is only through massive registration that we can consolidate our achievements,” Mbulle said. 

He said the Section will embark on a tour to all Subsections after the party’s anniversary on March 24 to mobilise for massive voter registration. 

“By the time we carry out the tour, we will certainly surpass 100% of our target,” the Section President confidently stated. 

Mbulle’s efforts to revive Tombel CPDM 

Since assuming the role of CPDM Kupe-Muanenguba III Section President, during the 2021 reorganisation of the basic organs of the party, Mbulle Valentine has brought in fresh impetus which have completely transformed and revived of the party in the Section. 

Through his efforts, fresh air of unity now reigns among grassroot supporters of the CPDM party in Tombel Subdivision. 

Barely months after taking over the CPDM in Tombel, Mbulle rallied all party Section executive and Presidents of Subsections in an enlarged meeting where he appealed to all and sundry to bury the hatchets for the general interest of the party.

This inclusive approach has successfully revived party activities, reconciled grievances supporters from all 46 Subsections and the three wings of the party in Tombel. 

Mbulle has instilled a new spirit in party supporters, urging them to shun provocation, which may aggrieve some members and lead to disintegration. 

He has underscored the need for love, unity and peace and successfully reconciled the Tombel II Subsection that had misunderstandings after reorganisation.

Revives celebration of party, national events 

Mbulle has also revamped the party and enabled the Section to actively celebrate in pomp and style, all party anniversaries and celebration of the party’s National President’s ascension to power as well as other national events such as Youth Day, National Day, Women’s Day, Labour Day among others. 

Through annual football tournaments he has organised, Mbulle has enormously contributed to boosting social cohesion, living together, national unity and peace efforts within Tombel Subdivision. 

He has also championed the course against the tarnishing of the image of Tombel on social media networks, reconciled councillors and council executives to unite for development. 

Boost party’s membership 

Under Mbulle Valentine, the CPDM party has also crippled opposition parties in Tombel with many diehard supporters of opposition Cameroon Renaissance Movement, MRC party, decamping to join the ranks of the ruling CPDM. 

This, political watchers are unanimous, speaks volume of the bright future the party has in the years ahead in Tombel, under the leadership of Mbulle Mbulle as Section President. 

Calls for elite to shun division, unite for dev’t 

Mbulle Valentine has also been a frontline campaigner for elite of the area to shun divisive tendencies, infighting, suspicion and unite for the development of the area. 

Mbulle had also appealed to the custodians of the customs and traditions of the land, including Chiefs and ‘Behons’ to further the peace efforts and seek to unite the divided senior political elite.

Efforts fetching Mbulle awards 

Mbulle’s achievements as Section President, it should be said, has been fetching him, his executives and supporters, recognitions. 

He was honoured with the award by the Scoop Media Group in May 2023, for remobilising, invigorating and bringing new impetus in the party in his native Tombel Subdivision. 

Mbulle Valentine in a nutshell

The selfless state servant holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from the University of Buea and a Master’s degree from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon, IRIC. 

The graduate of the Financial Division of the National School of Administration and Magistracy, ENAM, served at the South West Regional Treasury in Buea, as a support staff, in 2004.

Mbulle was later appointed Chief of Service of Materials and Expenditure in the Ministry of Finance, from where he later got appointed as the Divisional Treasurer for Meme Division. 

From Meme Division, he was appointed the Paymaster General for the East Regional Treasury, in late 2018, where he has been serving till date. 

The Knight of the Cameroon National Order of Valour, is also an astute politician and diehard grassroots mobiliser of the CPDM party.
