President Paul Biya’s push for Cameroon’s professional education to attain global standards and address local realities has had a major boost. This is with the coming of Saint Mary’s International College and University Institute.

The distinct professional institution, located in Mudeka, Tiko Subdivision, Fako Division of the South West Region, now has all it takes to run globally-sought after programs in different fields of life.

The doors of the school are now set for the 2024/2025 academic year. Admissions have opened this March, given the ability of the institution, both in capacity and quality of staff to handle students from across other African nations.

At the origin of the vision and marvel that has seen the light of day is United States-based Cameroon education stakeholder, Paul Atang. According to the proprietor, the vision is to bring global standards in training professionals of integrity and character to the Cameroonian setting and the Central African Economic and Monetary Community, CEMAC Subregion.

Atang has constructed world-class classrooms and laboratories on a spacious campus in Mudeka-Tiko to give learners holistic professional training.

While admissions are ongoing, the new, yet distinct and up-to-standard university institute, officials told reporters, will be presented to stakeholders on April 26 this year.

While there is already great mobilisation towards the to-be historic event and the turnaround the school’s opening will have in terms of training professionals, the investment on ground is already telling of a professional educational revolution on course.

Uniqueness of St Mary’s Int’l College & University Institute

The difference the modern institution is bringing to the education landscape is that of starting off with the training of professionals from Secondary School level.

Students who enroll in the institution start acquiring specific skills and later transition into higher levels of professionalisation. Such, officials said, will be done through the putting of Godly formation at the centre of every activity.

To add to the new professional system being infused into the African curricular and human resource development, the school already has in place state-of-the-art technologies.

The school is open to both female and male students. It has a-108 room capacity comminatory. Each room has a capacity of housing four students.

Outstanding environment to raise human resource for the future

The location and setting of Saint Mary’s International College and University Institute, pedagogues are now saying, is an accurate representation of a school to train human resource for the future.

In today’s fast-changing world, academicians who have received news of the school’s finalisation of arrangements for takeoff, say parents who wish to raise children who will shape their world, must choose the institution.

The location of the school is serene, spacious and far from the busy urban setting that comes with distraction.

The class of infrastructure, modern equipment and location of the school, those with a mastery of educational development say, makes the school a stand-out.

It is a courageous initiative. Congratulations. I hope the University sector would be elaborated to be more practical so as to encourage creation of enterprises that should solve the problems of unemployment in Cameroon and beyond. The location is very good for education with its quiet environment.

I am a public health expert I am amazed at what I see in these pictures and I will love to be part of the inauguration ceremony. This is the type of educational set up we have been longing to have for our children. I am looking forward to my child studying in a place like this.
