Personality of The Week: Senior Apostle John Chi; Founder of Ark of God Covenant Ministry.

Founder and General Overseer of the Buea-based Ark of God Covenant Ministry,

American Baptist gospel minister, Martin Lurther King Jr, underscored the place of service in his assertion that: “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?”.

When he made the remark decades ago, the world was not more complex than it is today. Our contemporary world is full of self-seeking and greedy individuals who prefer to fill the litterbin with even what could be of use to a neighbour.

That is the world for us! We have categorised human beings into the rich and the poor. Those who have, in most cases, are increasingly turning a blind eye on the needs of those who don’t have!

To justify such inhumane philosophy, oftentimes, you will hear people say: “God for us and any man for him or herself”.

Across these lines add religious differences-some have further opted to preach hate and spark violence. The man who has detached himself from such mundane view of life for years is Senior Apostle John Chi, Founder and General Overseer of the Buea-based Ark of God Covenant Ministry, AGCOM.

This week, the revered Man of God, through The John Chi Foundation, staged a mega donation on the campus of Government Primary School, Ekoudou, in the Briqueterie neighbourhood in Yaounde.

Senior Apostle John Chi came with a kitty of 1,000 bags of rice and cash of 3 million FCFA. This was handed to mostly members of the Muslim community in the area living with disabilities, widows and widowers.

From his position as a preacher, known across the world, such maybe the least of several of such initiatives he has been embarking on.

But for readers of The Guardian Post, the tower of journalism excellence in the Economic Community of Central African States, ECCAS, the positive impact has been assessed outside the church setting.

Though millions of our readers have celebrated the unity of purpose and underlying message of love and oneness in Senior Apostle John Chi’s recent charity, they add that socially, it carries a message of national and international ingress.

Our readers say giving the level of hate, division and violence many have used the cover of religion to promote, the recent outing of Senior Apostle John Chi, brings him to a prime spot in the calendar of Personality of The Week for this season.

Albeit a man who shuttles between charity, administering healing and preaching the gospel without seeking for notice, our readers say every citizen and other nations of the world must borrow a leaf of tolerance and the place of God as the Creator of every human being, irrespective of spiritual posture and affiliation.

For those who have been raised to use religion as a vehicle of hate, division and other vices, Senior Apostle John Chi’s recent show of love to under privileged Muslim faithful, carries with it a message that God remains our Creator, irrespective of diversities in how we worship Him.

Going by readers of The Guardian Post, Senior Apostle John Chi must be mentioned in good fortunes for shinning the light of God, on and off the pulpit. His act of giving, others are saying, liberates the soul of citizens yoked along religious lines.

No level of love, they are saying, in the earth realm can equate to what Senior John Chi does in taking love outside the bounds of Christianity to citizens in other religions.

Like Mother Theresa, who once said that it is not how much we give but how much love we put into giving, Senior Apostle John Chi, our readers say, makes a difference in his charity works through the immeasurable display of love shown beneficiaries.

Senior Apostle John Chi always gives without remembering. The thrill of his giving, admirers say, is that he does it in a way that the blessings last a lifetime. He knows happiness results from what we give and not what we receive.

While a life without service to others does not know the real meaning of greatness, Senior Apostle John Chi seats in an atmosphere of constant greatness, thanks to his commitment to serve humanity.

He is a man whom God has put angels at his disposal to stand in gap for others.

Though some have benefitted from such divine privilege and limited it to self-glorification, Senior Apostle John Chi has opted to continue working in humility, serving others and repeatedly echoing that all he has been doing, has been by the grace of God and to the glory of His name.

He is different from the many among the few who have received the goodies of life but forget the vast majority in despondency.

Senior Apostle John Chi has made it a duty to be constantly thinking of the less privileged. He knows too well that the greatness of every community, society or family is tied to the compassion of its members.

Our readers say though he is doing charity as a man of God, Apostle John Chi deserves human commendation for sharing his blessings beyond the brackets of his Christian faith.

His acts of giving, it is also being said, preaches Christ more than a million heads bowing in prayer.

Senior Apostle John Chi is a man helped by God who doesn’t judge each day by the harvest he makes but the seeds he plants. He is a man giving all to the present as a way of playing a key role in preserving the future of humanity.

Beyond humanity, he is a Servant of God operating in the consciousness that every act of charity is a stepping-stone towards Heaven.

The Preacher, for others, is a man born with open hands and heart. They have put him in their prayers this season for operating in the realm of people who give, not because their hands are full but because their hearts are full of compassion for others.

In a world where most people, especially the needy, always feel they are alone, our readers say, having people like Senior Apostle John Chi, who are consistently rising to the occasion of showing kindness, brings extra light to the world of those helped.

He is for millions of others, a Heavenly backed being who is daring, successful and has as mission bringing many out of darkness to light, through different social schemes.

If others have been touching people’s lives with their hands, Senior Apostle John Chi does so in grace and splendour, with a spirit-filled heart that seeks solely to glorify God and not self-glorification.

Your Personality of The Week has remained constant in bringing hope to millions across the globe.

Those who believe in God and His infinite abilities, say unless God be with a man like it is the case with Senior Apostle John Chi, it is nearly impossible to deny self and seek the comfort of others.

For this, and more acts of charity, admirers say, Senior Apostle John Chi’s outreaches have continued to send more powerful sermons to humanity about the person of Jesus and His love for every human being.

The sincerity in how Senior Apostle John Chi connects with widows, orphans, the less privileged and other people in distress, others are now saying, has rather caused them to seek God more and profess his goodness.

Through the good deeds of the Senior Apostle, those who are still growing in Christ, say John Chi has made them have a feel of the face of God.

In the eyes of many, Senior Apostle John Chi has emerged as a major ray of sunshine in a cloudy world. Those who hold him in high esteem through this prism, say greatness in life finds expression on the platform of what people do for others, especially those who cannot repay them.

Senior Apostle John Chi is working in the light of God’s word in Galatians 6:2; which directs us to: “Carry each other's burdens and so you will fulfill the law of Christ”.

The Senior Apostle, millions of our readers are saying and rightly so, is in tune with the words of American philosopher, Ralph Waldo, who once said: “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honourable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well”.

The native of Esu, Fungong Subdivision, Menchum Division of the North West Region, has a trajectory that is unique and inspiring.

Born on September 26, 1976, the then young John is said to have completed Primary School in 1989, but could not further his education owing to lack of money.

Accounts hold that John Chi moved over to the South West Region, where he served as house help to Hon Efite Andrew.

Reports hold that one day while in Muntengene, the young John Chi stumbled on a crusade ground where the preacher picked him out and gave a prophecy of what God had ahead for him.

It is said that apparently not mature enough to come to terms with what had happened then, John Chi again received the same prophecy from the pastor of his local church.

The pastor, who is said to be of Sierra Leone nationality, is said to have opted to take John Chi to his country for further training. This was in December 1999.

That is how the global preacher of today found himself in Nigeria, from where there was another divine encounter that stopped him from travelling further.

Encounters upon encounters led him to the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, of the late Prophet TB Joshua. He later enrolled into the SCOAN Free Evangelical School.

From 2010 to 2013, Senior Apostle John Chi is said to have had several encounters and revelations. With the approval and counsel of his master, Prophet TB Joshua, he was released to start the Ark of God Covenant Ministry, AGCOM.

Today, from his base in Buea, Fako Division of the South West Region, God has continued to use Senior Apostle John Chi mightily to minister to all the nations of the world.

For the records, Senior Apostle John Chi has been invited by several renowned world leaders to pray for them, heal and deliver them and their citizens.
