Ahead of 58th Youth Day: Kumba Urban MP salutes Biya’s youth empowerment strides.

The Member of Parliament, MP, for Kumba Urban constituency, Hon Tabot Lawson Bakia, has saluted what he says are President Paul Biya’s strides in empowering young people.
Hon Tabot made the remark in a recent interview granted the state media.
According to him, President Biya has done his best in empowering young people across the board.

Going by the MP, he is among the examples to show that President Biya has interest in young people.

He said, from being invested by the CPDM to come to the National Assembly and being made a bureau member among others, show how real Biya’s youth empowerment policy is.

Hon Tabot also talked about other young MPs at the National Assembly, such as Hon Cabral Libii, of the opposition Cameroon party for National Reconciliation, PCRN, as another show of youth empowerment.

The lawmaker also brought to his list of examples of young people in leadership positions, the Director General of the National School of Administration and Magistracy- ENAM; Bertrand Sombo Angoula.

The youth should be patient

The MP urged the youth to remain patient and support the policies of the Head of State and respect State institutions. Those in leadership, he said, are put there by God and deserved to be respected.

Hon Tabot, who is serving his second term as the CPDM Section President for Meme IA covering Kumba I Subdivision, was voted to the National Assembly in February 2020.

He has been active, both at the level of the CPDM and the Kumba Urban Constituency, boosting voter registration and reaching out to the needy. Hon Tabot is also credited with the renovation of the CPDM party house in Kumba and various donations to different social groups.

He holds the title of ‘Ashi’, meaning brother, conferred on him by the Paramount Ruler of the Bafaw and King of Kumba, Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko.
