Armed men kill Catholic missionary in Bamenda.

The late Ngeh Cyprian

Catholics and other Christians in the North West Region are in tears, following the killing of a Catholic missionary, Ngeh Cyprian, serving at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Medical Centre in Njimafor, Bamenda II Subdivision.

Report says Ngeh Cyprian was attacked by men armed with knives at about 9p.m. on Tuesday November 7. This happened in Ndamukong, Bamenda III Subdivision.

The Guardian Post gathered from sources that Ngeh Cyprian was driving back to the medical centre after seeing off one of his colleague when the unfortunate incident occurred.

The armed men, who are yet to be identified, shattered his vehicle with stones before stabbing him severally.

Ngeh, who was a nurse and manager of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Medical Centre in Njimafor, was later confirmed dead at the Mbingo Baptist Health Centre, reportedly after being transported by another person he was driving with.

In a video that widely circulated on social media, chairs of the vehicle are seen with blood stains. A stone allegedly used in shattering the glass of the vehicle is equally seen at the back seat of the vehicle.

It is still not clear who and for what reason the missionary was killed. Authorities of the church and government officials were yet to officially comment on the issue, as at the time of this report.

This is, however, not the first missionary or man of God to be killed or attacked in the North West Region since the crisis started in 2016. On Tuesday of October 30, 2018 a Baptist missionary from Indiana, USA, Charles Wesco, was shot dead in Bambui, Tubah Subdivision, Mezam Division in the North West Region.

The 44-year-old had just arrived Bamenda less than two weeks before he was killed. He was driving his family when bullets killed him.
