Leading telecommunications operator, Cameroon Telecommunications, CAMTEL, is lighting up and giving colour and splendor to the ongoing 2023 edition of the FENASSCO League A Games, in the North Region of the country.

The telecoms operator, the official sponsor of the games, has staged a strong showing through its remarkable decoration of the games’ village in CAMTEL colours.

That during the kickoff on Saturday July 29.

The ongoing FENASSCO League A Games, which kicked off last Saturday, it should be said, is unfolding simultaneously in the towns of Garoua and Gashiga.

The kickoff of the games was given on Saturday in Garoua by the Minister of Secondary Education, Prof Nalova Lyonga.

For one week, students from the ten Regions of the country will be engaged in various sporting disciplines as they blend studies with sports.

The athletes will be accompanied in their endeavours to realise their dreams, throughout the weeklong event with CAMTEL as main sponsor.

CAMTEL management took the commitment to sponsor this year’s edition of the games, after successfully doing so last year in Mvomeka’a, in the South Region.

Aside beautifying the games’ village, CAMTEL, as partner and official sponsor of FENASSCO League A Games, has taken the commitment to award several prizes to athletes and supporters.

CAMTEL will through its flagship product, Blue, also offer a Special Prize to the best volleyball athlete in both men’s and women’s categories.

The company has a special prize for the winners of the volleyball, basketball, football in the men’s and women’s categories as well as a special “Blue Prize” for the three winners of the Chantal Biya Excellence Prize FENASSCO 2023.

In addition to the prizes, CAMTEL is also providing free mobile connection for live broadcasts.

The management of the telecoms operator has also dispatched a ready team to provide constant and permanent technical support round the clock to teams on the site and to quickly resolve any internet disruptions.

Promise made, promise kept

All the prizes and offers from CAMTEL at the FENASSCO League A Games, it should be said, are promises made and kept by the corporation’s General Manager, Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi.

She had made the announcement to sponsor the games last July 11, while receiving the Minister of Secondary Education for a working visit at CAMTEL’s headquarters in Yaounde.

Judith Yah Sunday had also used the opportunity to reiterate the commitment of CAMTEL to support the education community.

“CAMTEL is fully ready to support the Ministry of Secondary Education in the implementation of its major projects that they have embarked on, that is e-learning; which will enable the educational community to access learning more easily using electronic tools,” the CAMTEL General Manager had said.

“CAMTEL positioned itself as the official sponsor of the 2022 FENASSCO League A Games, which were organised in Mvomeka, under the distinguished patronage of Her Excellency, The First Lady, Chantal Biya. The games as everyone attest were a resounding success,” Judith Yah Sunday added.

Secondary Education Minister, Prof Nalova Lyonga, had in return, hailed CAMTEL for standing by the education community.

“It is a wonderful partnership between CAMTEL and MINESEC. We started it last year. We didn’t know how well it was going to be. We didn’t know what CAMTEL was going to offer us, but we saw it and this time we decided to repeat a lot of things that we did the last time,” Prof Nalova had said.

The member of government had added: “It is a great partnership. I have discovered that CAMTEL is genuinely interested in promoting the interest of children and the interest of those who are educators…you know what they have done for us”.
