CPDM dispatches powerful delegation to Fru Ndi’s funeral.

The official burial of the late legendary politician and statesman is due to be organised Saturday in his native Baba II, in Santa Subdivision of the North West Region.

The CPDM delegation at the coffining ceremony in Yaounde was headed by former Prime Minister, Philemon Yang.

The delegation was dispatched by the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPDM, former Minister, Jean Nkuete. The decision from the Central Committee boss, which circulated Thursday, is dated July 26.

According to the communique, other members of the delegation include Public Works Minister, Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi, who is also Head of the Permanent CPDM delegation to the Bamboutos Division of the West Region.

Other members of the powerful delegation include former minister and current National Coordinator of the CPDM Academy, Prof Elvis Ngolle Ngolle; Minister Ngalle Bihehe Jean Ernest Massena, who is member of the permanent CPDM Divisional Delegation for the Sanaga-Maritime; Minister Mbah Acha Rose, member of the CPDM permanent Divisional Delegation for Momo and Mbah Shupong Michael, CPDM Mezam II (Santa) Section President. The charges de missions include Dr Nwana Sama Bernard and Okie Johnson Ndoh.

CPDM scribe to represent Biya at funeral 

Meantime, the President of the Republic will be represented at the official funeral in Baba II by the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPDM, Jean Nkuete.

The decision, which was read last evening on national television, was signed by the Director of Civil Cabinet at the Presidency of the Republic, Samuel Mvondo Ayolo. 

President Biya, it should be said, had decreed an official funeral for the late Fru Ndi. During Saturday's funeral, the late National Chairman of the SDF is expected to be decorated posthumously.

Nation mourns Fru Ndi

Ni John Fru Ndi began his final journey to the world beyond yesterday in Yaounde. His mortal remains were removed from the Mortuary of the Yaounde General Hospital at 4:00pm. 

The corpse removal ceremony was attended by several state dignitaries and leaders of major opposition political parties. There were also religious leaders at the ceremony. 

Conspicuous amongst the dignitaries at yesterday's coffining ceremony was the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPDM, Jean Kuete. 

Other high-profile personalities included former Prime Minister, Philemon Yang; the Minister of State, Minister Tourism and Leisure, Bello Bouba Maigari, who doubles as President of the National Union for Democracy and Progress, NUDP.

Also present were the Minister of Employment and Vocational Training, Issa Tchiroma Bakari, who is also leader of the Cameroon National Salvation Front, FSNC party.

After the corpse removal, Ni John Fru Ndi’s remains were conveyed to the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex, where an-all night inter-religious ceremony was organised. 

In attendance were the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, Rev Fonki Samuel and the Archbishop of the Yaounde Metropolitan Archdiocese, His Grace Jean Mbarga. Imams and other religious leaders were also present. 

During the prayer session held in the presence of government officials and some foreign dignitaries, various preachers at the event, prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Ni John Fru Ndi. 

Stating that Ni John Fru Ndi stood for the truth and fought for justice, the clergymen said the late SDF Chieftain lived an accomplished life. They invited Cameroonians to emulate the ways of the late SDF Chairman.

Bamenda to host final rally today

From Yaounde early this morning, the corpse of the late SDF National Chairman is expected in Bamenda later today. A funeral ceremony to take the guise of a rally, will be held at the Bamenda Commercial Avenue Grandstand. 

It is expected to be attended by thousands of SDF supporters and well-wishers. From the Bamenda Commercial Avenue Grandstand, the remains of the late politician will be conveyed to the Presbyterian Church Musang where he worshipped for several years. 

There will be an all-night vigil at his Ntarinkon residence later today. On Saturday, the corpse will be transported to his native Baba II village for burial.
