Donga Mantung: Achidi Judith’s peace, unity tournament kicks off in style.

The holiday tournament which is in its third edition this year kicked off on Sunday July 3. The competition will be played in all five subdivisions of Donga Mantung, including Ako, Misaje, Ndu, Nkambe and Nwa. 

Donga Mantung Senior Divisional Officer, Dr Nkwenti Simon Doh gave the kickoff in the presence of a cross section of the population and some elite of the Division.

Speaking at the event, the government officials challenged other elite of the administrative unit to emulate the example of CAMTEL General Manager to groom young football talents for national and world exposure.

Judith Yah Sunday is said to have set aside 5 million FCFA for cash prizes and the running of competition which will last for two months.

The final of the tournament is expected to be played at the end of August in Nkambe. It will culminate in the launch of a foundation in honour of her late father, Colonel Nfor Sunday Lawrence.

The foundation launch will be marked by the distribution of school material to some vulnerable children in all five subdivision of Donga Mantung.

The opening encounter which pulled a marmot crowd pitted WIVET FC and Park National. Nfor Carlson of WIVET FC was the player of the day as he scored a brace to help his team outplayed Park National FC by 2-0.

With the kickoff given in Nkambe, the matches will now continue in the other subdivisions.

The CAMTEL General Manager is not new to giving back to the community. In the past she has offered support to women, the underprivileged and other groups in Donga Mantung
