Chronicling fallen SDF bigwigs.

Shakespeare once said “death is a necessary end that will come when it will”. On his part, Mark Twain, renowned writer and author of popular novel, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, said “death is the starlit strip between the companionship of yesterday and the reunion of tomorrow”.

Death, they say, is no respecter of persons. Since its creation, the SDF has known its own share of deaths. The human resource of the party has been waning, caused by the falling in death of some of its bigwigs.

The biggest of such was recently when the National Chairman, John Fru Ndi, gave up the ghost in his Yaounde residence after a protracted illness.

Others who passed away have included Secretaries General, Vice Presidents, NEC members, Mayors, Members of Parliament, District Chairpersons, among others.

While some of such bigwigs were called to glory while still within the party, some died after having quit the party for one reason or another.

If the assertion that nature does not accept a vacuum is anything to go by, then it may be safe to say that as such bigwigs pass away, younger, energetic, dynamic vibrant proponents of the SDF ideology will be expected to fill the huge void created by the demise of these big shots. But political analysts are of the opinion that for this to be feasible, there must be a reasonable level of tolerance, understanding and forgiveness within the party.
