CSPH General Manager supports free health campaign in Nguti.

Barely a few weeks after he set up a modern palm oil mill in his native village of Mboka, the General Manager of the National Hydrocarbon Prices Stabilisation Fund, known by its French acronym, CSPH, Okie Johnson Ndoh, has supported a health project, initiated by the new executive of the Nguti Cultural and Development Union, also known as Elati-Bebum.

The free health campaign, worth millions of FCFA, was led by the President General of Elati-Bebum, Nelson Mbu Eyeni,

The one-day free health campaign, which took place Thursday June 8, had a mobile health caravan of 30 medical doctors and health personnel who travelled from Yaounde and stationed at the celebrated Saint John of God Hospital in Nguti.

Patients who came from Nguti and neighbouring communities, were consulted, treated and handed medications free of charge by the medical doctors.

According to the President of Elati-Bebum, Nelson Mbu Eyeni, the free health campaign is an initiative that has come to stay, especially given that the population is plagued by all kind of diseases, coupled with the hard times that have come as a result of the Anglophone crisis, which has degenerated into an armed conflict.

He added that the exercise must come to fruition, as he noted that more patients still need to be treated to complete the target. Eyeni pointed out that during his mandate, he would engage part of his activities on health-related services to enable his community have better health coverage.

He regretted that some patients couldn't get the information on time, and so they had to come the following day when the exercise had closed.

Nevertheless, he promised to engage another free health campaign caravan in the coming days.

For many patients who turned out for the event, it was an amazing grace for them to have such a free health campaign right at their doorsteps. They used the occasion to thank the financer of the project, Okie Johnson, as well as the initiator and, like Oliver Twist, pleaded for more fruitful health campaigns to be done in the nearest future.
