Five new Ambassadors hand letters of credence to Biya.

This was during solemn ceremony which took place at the Unity Palace Friday June 2, 2023. The five Ambassadors include that of Equatorial Guinea, the Republic of Korea, Belgium, Tunisia and Turkiye.

The ceremony kick-started at 2pm with respective arrival of the new Ambassadors. They were each treated to military music from the band of the Presidential Guard. 

The first to arrive the Unity Palace was the new Ambassador of Equatorial Guinea to Cameroon, His Excellency Armando Kote Echuaca. He inspected a guard of honour and the singing of the national anthem of Cameroon, before proceeding into the main building of the Unity Palace.

This was followed by the arrival of the Ambassadors of the Republic of Korea, His Excellency Kim Jonghan; Kingdom of Belgium, His Excellency Eric Jacquemin; Tunisia, His Excellency Mohamed Karim Ben Becher and Turkiye, His Excellency Volkan Isikci. 

Each of the Ambassadors took turns to review the troops and to honour the signing of the national anthem before moving to the main building.

They each took turns to hand their letters of credence to the President Paul Biya. The Head of State received the letters and also had brief chats with each of the Ambassadors. 

The ceremony, it should be said, unfolded in the presence of some close collaborators of the Head of State including: The Minister of State, Secretary General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinand Ngoh Ngoh; the Minister of External Relations, Mbella Mbella; the Minister Director of the Civil Cabinet, Samuel Mvondo Ayolo; the Chief of Staff of the Special Command at the Presidency of the Republic, General Emmanuel Amougou and the Commander of the Presidential Guard; Colonel Raymond Jean Charles Beko’o Abondo.

Before leaving the Unity Palace, the Ambassadors once reviewed the troops and honour and the signing of the national anthem of their respective countries by the band of the Presidential Guard. The Ambassadors left the Unity Palace satisfied and officially recognised as the representatives of their respective countries in Yaounde.
