Organisers speaking at the press conference in Yaounde

The second edition of the Cameroon International Tech Summit, will run from October 15 to 17, 2026, organisers of the high-level event have announced.

Details of the forthcoming summit were disclosed in Yaounde on Friday. This was during a press conference organized in prelude to the strategic gathering.

It was disclosed that the second edition of the technology event will take place at the Yaounde Conference Centre.

The event, according to organisers, aims to bring together innovators, investors, institutions, and entrepreneurs to address the challenges of digital development.

Organisers said as “Cameroon continues to explore the opportunities offered by technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship...the Cameroon International Tech Summit 2026, CITS26 is part of this momentum, with its second edition scheduled for October 15 to 17 at the Yaounde Convention Center”.

Organised by Mountain Hub, the summit aims to serve as a forum for meetings and discussions on national development priorities.

To be held under the theme: “The Bold Agenda”, the 2026 edition of the summit is structured around four announced priorities.

The pillars include youth skills and employment, startups and small businesses, digital services and outsourcing, as well as sustainability and green innovation.

The priorities, officials say, reflect a commitment to linking technology to economic and social challenges.

“In particular, the outsourcing of business processes and IT services is a key focus for this edition,” said organisers.

The summit’s programme, it has been disclosed, will include a national boot camp, a pitch competition called “Lion’s Den”, a policy forum, a Startup Village, an experimentation space dedicated to artificial intelligence, and a job fair.

A cultural programme featuring concerts, a craft market, and a culinary showcase has also been announced. The Lion’s Den competition is expected to offer more than $50,000 in funding, according to the press release.

Details regarding selection criteria, the distribution of funding, and application requirements are to be specified by the organizers, as per the statement.

“These details are of direct interest to entrepreneurs who wish to turn their ideas into structured projects,” it added.

The summit has received announced support from the United Nations Development Program, UNDP and the German Agency for International Cooperation, GIZ.

Other partners include Enovation Factory, City Hack, and Cameroon Digital Tank. The participation of the organisations, it has been said, is part of the ecosystem of cooperation and innovation presented by Mountain Hub.

For Ayuk Etta, president of the Cameroon International Tech Summit, CITS and CEO of Mountain Hub, the event must go beyond mere talk about the digital future.

“We’re not just talking about Africa’s digital future—we’re building it, right here in Cameroon,” he said.

Ayuk explained at the press conference that the summit is intended to bring together the various components of Cameroon’s technology ecosystem and demonstrate that this ambition can become a reality.

Entrepreneurs, startups, investors, government agencies, technology companies, universities, students, developers, and development partners are thus invited to gather for three days in Yaounde.

Connecting startups…

The 2026 edition of the Cameroon International Tech Summit, organisers have said, aims to serve as a platform for connecting innovators with stakeholders capable of financing, supporting, or adopting their solutions.

According to the organizers, the focus will be reflected in conferences, project presentations, technology demonstrations, and professional meetings with investors, business leaders, and public officials.

The program also includes a technology exhibition and a startup village. During the three days of the summit, startups will be able to showcase their products, conduct demonstrations, and meet potential partners.

The solutions are expected to span several sectors, including artificial intelligence, digital finance, cybersecurity, e-commerce, education, healthcare, agriculture, telecommunications, and the transformation of public administrations.

According to Ayuk Etta, the technology industry does not recruit only developers or computer engineers. It also offers opportunities to graduates from fields such as marketing, social sciences, communication, political science, and anthropology—provided they acquire the complementary skills sought by companies.

The CITS founder specifically mentioned roles such as user experience designer, UX researcher, product manager, product marketing specialist, business analyst, community manager, customer success manager, and technology policy expert.
