ICD recalled that the management of CCA Bank had deposited letters of intent in the last few years, applying for a loan which was eventually settled and approved by the Board of IsDB.

The financiers specified that, what they see as a strategic finance window for CCA Bank, is an initiative aimed at strengthening local SMEs, by supporting productive investments that have significant development impact.

They highlighted key sectors of interest such as agribusiness, transportation, and healthcare as those expected to benefit from this support; as they have potential of contributing to economic growth and job creation, not only in Cameroon but within the sub region.

The financing, they said, will provide private project leaders with the medium and long-term resources necessary to foster sustainable development, the lenders disclosed.

They insisted that the facility will bolster CCA Bank's rapidly expanding Islamic Window, and further enhance its capacity to offer Sharia-compliant financial services in Cameroon.

Meanwhile, in a press statement issued by the Minister of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development, MINEPAT, Alamine Ousmane Mey, the minister said he received high instructions from the Head of State to preside and stand as guarantor in the name of the State of Cameroon, for loan agreements being signed by the IsDB Group and Chief Executives of strategic local economic establishments on the sidelines of activities marking IsDB Day in Cameroon.

Founded in 1997 in Bafoussam, West Region, CCA Bank began operations as a savings and credit cooperative. In 2018, it received its banking license, transitioning from a microfinance institution to an inclusive bank.

CCA provides a range of deposit and loan products, including Islamic finance to individuals, SMEs, and large corporations.

On March 25, 2025, CCA Bank was granted prior authorisation by the Banking Commission to partially operate Islamic finance within its network.
