Ahead of new school year: Melbet Cameroun empowers outstanding students.

Melbet Cameroun’s Head of Marketing official immortalizes event with beneficiaries

 

Betting and real-money entertainment company, Melbet Cameroun, has handed out financial and material assistance to some meritorious students in Yaounde ahead of the 2026/2027 school year.

The donation was made during a ceremony in Yaounde Wednesday. 



The Head of Marketing at Melbet Cameroun, Pierre Belinga, chaired the event. It was attended by recipients, their parents and educational stakeholders. 

According to Belinga, the learners were selected from Yaounde-based higher institutions of learning; Digital School Academy, and the higher institute of applied technologies and management known by its French language acronym ISTAG.

Belinga said similar donations have been programmed for Douala, and Bafoussam. She said the project is executed as part of a new scholarship scheme introduced by the company dubbed Excellence Rewarding.

The Melbet Cameroun official said the offer targets learners studying in the fields of marketing, communication, technology, computer science, and sciences.

Belinga said donations will help reduce the back to school burden on parents. She said the company prioritized learners in the in the areas of marketing, communication, technology, computer science, and the sciences. 

Melbet Cameroun, he noted, sees the said fields as sectors that drive modern businesses and educational endeavors. 

The Head of Marketing said the Company is strongly committed to fronting nation building by investing impactfully in education and other strategic sectors.

Beneficiaries, parents pose after receiving donation

Mentorship in package

She said the winners of the support will also benefit a mentorship program and other initiatives aimed at promoting financial literacy and overall mental wellbeing.

“…we plan to organise training sessions, mentoring programs, and awareness seminars against addiction. The root cause of addiction is poor financial management, to go even further, a lack of financial literacy,” Belinga noted, adding that: “The programs will further strengthen financial education thereby ensuring that nobody falls into addiction”. 

 

Recipients express gratitude 

Recipients thanked Melbet Cameroun for the support. One of the learners, Asimo Tilly Gwendoline, said: “It is an honour for me to have this scholarship. I express my sincere gratitude to Melbet Cameroun for the privilege”.

Another beneficiary, Medom Domguia Grace Astrid, hailed Melbet Cameroun as being exemplary in supporting young Cameroonians.

“I feel truly honoured. I wasn’t expecting this at all. It motivates me to work even harder…,” the recipient said.

The father of one of the recipients, Belibi Rostand, said he is proud of what Melbet Cameroun is doing to promote academic excellence.

Belibi said people “…often forget that behind a company, there is also a social responsibility aspect. I deeply appreciate what they are doing…”. 

Another parent, Arnaud Bonjawo, said the initiative restate Melbet’s position as a company strongly in the future of Cameroon.

“We can only say thank you to Melbet Cameroun. We hope this organization continues with these efforts in the years to come,” he added.
