Third, Fourth Joint Military Regions: Minister Beti Assomo installs newly appointed commanders.

At the Garoua ceremonial grandstand on August 13, Minister Beti Assomo commissioned Rear Admiral Ade Nkwenti Hilary as new Commander of the Third Joint Military Region, RMIA3, recovering Adamawa and North Regions.

Rear Admiral Ade Nkwenti Hilary takes command from Brigadier General Nouma Joseph, who is now in charge of the 4th Joint Military Region, RMIA4.

Representing the City Mayor of Garoua, Second Deputy Mayor commended the armed forces for their contribution to maintaining peace and security in the North Region. 

The Governor of the North Region was represented by his Secretary General, Densou Joseph.

Minister Joseph Beti Assomo paid tribute to the outgoing RMIA3 commander, Brigadier General Nouma Joseph, praising the rigour and effectiveness of his leadership during his tenure. 

The MINDEF boss urged the commander to prioritise safeguarding country’s territorial integrity, strengthening the protection of populations and their property, and ensuring the sustainable preservation of peace throughout the RMIA3 area of responsibility.

Before his appointment, Rear Admiral Ade Nkwenti Hilary served as Major General No. 2 at Navy Headquarters in Yaounde. 

In Maroua on August 14, Minister Beti Assomo also commissioned Brigadier General Nouma Joseph as Commander of the 4th Joint Military Region covering the far North Region. 

The minister called on the new Commander to join efforts with his collaborators to totally eradicate the remnant of members of the die-hard terrorist sect, Boko Haram, who have resorted to poaching, hostage taking and arms trafficking.

He used the opportunity to congratulate vigilante committee members of the far North Region for their role as informants and guides which has enormously contributed to the successes recorded on the field by the defence forces in the region. 

He Brigadier General Nouma Joseph to promote the indissoluble bond that exist between the army and the nation, keep the region safe for a free and secure back-to-school period.

The new Commander takes over from Brigadier General Agha Robinson Ndong who through the August 3 presidential decree was appointed Logistics Advisor in the Ministry of Defence
