Douala: Man arrested for forcing sex worker to collect excess tip.

Per reports we gathered, the client attempted to pay the sex worker ten times the amount initially agreed upon for her services.

According to Cameroon Tribune, local sources recounted that the client, identified as Merrick, reportedly met a young woman named Evelyne and they agreed to pay 5,000 FCFA for her services.

Witnesses are quoted as having noted that the two spent approximately two hours together before the time came to settle the payment. 

Evelyne, who later recounted the events to investigators, stated that the encounter had proceeded without incident and that she expected to receive the agreed sum.

However, the situation took an unexpected turn when Merrick, 37, allegedly handed her 50,000 FCFA instead of the negotiated 5,000. 

Before making the payment, the businessman had reportedly offered her a bottle of perfume, which she accepted as a gift.

Surprised by the amount, Evelyne is said to have reminded the client of the agreed price. According to her account, Merrick acknowledged the original arrangement but insisted that the additional 45,000 FCFA should be considered a bonus in appreciation of the service provided.

His proposal was nevertheless rejected. Sources are said to have indicated that Evelyne declined to accept the excess payment and attempted to return it.

But unfortunately as her client was about to leave, she reportedly raised an alarm, attracting the attention of colleagues and security personnel operating in the area.

The matter is said to have been eventually referred to the police for clarification. After hearing both parties, officers reportedly explained that gratuities or bonuses cannot be imposed on a recipient who does not wish to accept them. 

Merrick is said to have recovered the disputed 45,000 FCFA while Evelyne retained only the agreed payment. Both are said to have gone their separate road after the incident.
