The appeal was made during the Upper-Sanaga CPDM Joint Sections Conference held on July 4, 2026, in Nkoteng, Upper-Sanaga Division, Centre Region.

Minister Bidoung Mkpatt’s address

In his keynote address, Minister Bidoung Mkpatt explained that the joint sections conference holds in a particular context marked by an improvement in the country’s security situation after major successes in hosting of the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference and the historic visit of Pope Leo XIV.

The minister said the meeting is holding after the extension of municipal councillors’ mandates and the anticipation of a new electoral calendar, paving the way for all to go to work and begin mobilisation for massive voter registration.

He urged all party actors to multiply awareness-raising and mobilisation strategies in order to register as many voters as possible, so as to consolidate the electorate at the grassroots level and approach the upcoming electoral deadlines serenely.

“Despite the many obstacles and other tactics of disinformation, destabilisation, and demobilisation, the Upper-Sanaga Division should remain united and cohesive around the ideals of the CPDM,” he added.

He further instructed grassroots leaders to focus on increasing the number of party supporters through their knowledge, know-how, and political savoir-être.

The minister was clear that only their performance and results on the ground will make it possible to fulfil the commitments that the CPDM in Upper-Sanaga has made to the populations.

He urged all elected officials to instil confidence in all party supporters to work with complementarity and efficiency, in strict compliance with the basic texts, ethics, and code of conduct of the CPDM.

The minister used the opportunity alongside all key actors, to call on all and sundry to transcend misunderstandings, frustrations, and other grievances suffered or endured, in order to promote the essential objectives, the overall development of the Division and the full flourishing of the ideals of CPDM in Upper-Sanaga.

The event culminated in a motion of support to the presidential couple, Paul and Chantal Biya, by the CPDM supporters of Upper-Sanaga Division.
