The Senior Divisional Officer, SDO, of Meme Division in troubled-hit South West Region, Ntou'ou Ndong Chamberlin, has emerged as the Most Resilient Civil Administrator of The Year 2025.

The distinction was bestowed on the SDO during the 23rd edition of The Guardian Post Achievement Award.

The ceremony held on June 13 in the town of Ebolowa in the South Region.

According to organisers, the SDO was singled out by readers of The Guardian Post newspaper for his “versatile and rare leadership prowess in guiding Meme Division out of the claws of separatist incursions and propaganda to restoring normalcy and strictly following up the implementation of development projects and reviving peaceful co-existence”.

The administrator, after receiving the recognition, dedicated it to the Head of State, Paul Biya; his hierarchy and the population of Meme Division for collaborating with him.

Ntou’ou Ndong expressed gratitude to readers of The Guardian Post newspaper, its Publisher/Editor-in-Chief, Ngah Christian Mbipgo, for monitoring his service in Meme.

He added to the list of those who have made his work easier in Meme his immediate collaborators, traditional rulers and service heads.

The administrator used the opportunity to charge the people of his administrative unit to remain collaborative and ensure peace reigns in every community.

He said everyone should continue peace efforts for the good of the nation.

The SDO stated that the recognition will motivate him to continue working in the interest of the people as directed by the Head of State, Paul Biya.

Since taking over command of Meme Division in the heart of the crisis in the North West and South West Regions, the administrator is credited for the normalcy that has returned across Meme Division.

Ntou’ou Ndong has also used the Head of State’s appeasement message to convince hundreds of youngsters who took up arms against the State.

Fondly referred to as the Moses of Meme Division, the prefect also has to his credits consistency in crusading effective school resumption across the five Subdivisions under his control.

That businesses have gained steam alongside economic activities in Meme is thanks to the rallying power of the SDO. Ntou’ou Ndong has also maintained a good relationship with the Nigerian community across Meme, ensuring that they go about their activities without any disturbances given the country’s long history with Cameroon.

According to His Majesty Nofuruh Ivens Disombe, traditional ruler of Nake Bokoko, the SDO’s award is merited, given the several things he has done since his appointment to the Division.

The monarch who is a member of the South West Chiefs Conference, SWECC, executive urged traditional rulers and the population to redouble their efforts in working with the SDO for the general good.

He said he is a witness to the tireless efforts of the prefect to eradicate separatists from across Meme Division since his appointment in 2017. The Chairman of the Mukonje village Traditional Council, Nzoh Stanley, on his part said he is not surprised the SDO won such a distinction given his record at the helm of Meme over the last nine years.
