The death has been reported of one of the frontline traditional rulers of the South West Region and public servant, His Majesty Fritzgerald Nasako.

The devout Catholic was also said to be a committed member of the congregation’s choir.

The Guardian Post gathered that His Majesty Nasako returned home and later complained of not feeling well before he was rushed to a health facility where he breath his last.

Sources indicated that his corpse was later ferried to the Yaounde General Hospital Mortuary pending funeral arrangements.

As a traditional ruler, he was active extensively across his native South West Region, holding executive positions at some point within the South West Chiefs Conference, SWECC, and the grouping of Ndian traditional rulers.

“shocking loss”

In a statement confirming the monarch’s demise yesterday, the President of the Ndian Divisional Chiefs Conference, NDICCO, His Majesty Motomba Alex, described his demise as a “shocking loss”.

According to him, Chief Nasako joining his ancestors is “…a tremendous and deeply shocking loss, not only to his family and community but also to the entire fraternity of traditional rulers and all who had the privilege of working with him”.

Motomba maintained that Chief Nasako’s legacy of “service and commitment will remain with us always”.

He extended condolences to the deceased immediate family. Motomba charged all traditional rulers in Ndian to remain available to ensure preparations for the funeral.
