Cameroon Int’l Cycling Tour: Race enters stage eight today after lap seven cancellation.

The stage seven series was scheduled to take place in Limbe in Fako Division of the South West Region in a 7.8km-long individual time trial format.

The Cameroon Cycling Federation, FECACYCLING, however, announced yesterday afternoon that the event had been cancelled due to flooding in Limbe.

“…following the flooding in the city of Limbe over the last few hours, which left part of the time-trial route impassable, the President of the Commissioners Panel, in agreement with the organizers, has decided to cancel the seventh stage,” a section of the statement read.

The setback marked the second successive time that the seventh stage of the competition is cancelled. The lap was cancelled during the 2025 edition due to what organizers blamed on the poor state of the routes in Douala where the stage was scheduled to hold in close circuit format.

The cancellation led to an open fight between organizers of the competition and the Douala City Council which later accused the organizing body of opting to use routes that had been flagged unusable by the city council.

The results that were registered in the sixth lap of the ongoing competition which was held in a close circuit format in Douala last Tuesday, will be maintained heading into the eighth stage this Thursday.

Germany’s Charrois Leo of Team Embrace the World and Kuere Rodrigue Nounawe of SNH Velo Club of Cameroon are ranked first and second respectively on the general standing followed by Mimouni Oussama Abdellah of the Algerian National Team.
