PROMOTE 2026: Shippers’ council invites SMEs to apply for participation support.

The call was announced in a release signed by the General Manager, Auguste Mbappé Penda, and published on the institution’s Facebook page on May 28.

According to the release, the support targets Cameroonian businesspersons, particularly promoters of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, SMEs, seeking to showcase their products and services at the major business exhibition. The initiative, the release noted, is aimed at facilitating the participation of selected SMEs at the event.

Enterprises wishing to benefit from the assistance have been instructed to complete an application form made available online by the CNSC. The deadline for submission of applications has been fixed for June 8, 2026.

The council stated that successful applicants will be contacted individually after the review process. It added that further information and assistance can be obtained through the contact numbers provided in the release.

In the document, the council said it “shall provide support to SMEs for their participation in the 10th edition of the 2026 Yaoundé International Business, SME and Partnership Exhibition.”

The announcement places focus on preparations for PROMOTE 2026, one of Cameroon’s largest economic exhibitions bringing together businesses, investors, institutions and development partners. The event serves as a platform for enterprises to present goods and services, establish business contacts and explore partnership opportunities.

PROMOTE is organised periodically at the Yaounde Conference Centre and has over the years attracted exhibitors from Cameroon and several other countries. 

The exhibition is designed to promote business exchanges and create opportunities for partnerships between enterprises and institutional stakeholders.

It is worth mentioning that the support scheme comes as small and medium-sized enterprises continue to represent a significant segment of Cameroon’s formal business landscape. 

Data from the National Institute of Statistics indicate that SMEs account for more than 99 per cent of formally registered enterprises in the country. 

The Ministry of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts has also identified the sector as a major source of employment and business activity nationwide.

CNSC works to facilitate trade and support economic operators. It regularly implements measures aimed at improving the competitiveness of local enterprises in national and international markets. 

The release signed by Auguste Mbappé Penda stated that the application process is now open, with selected enterprises expected to benefit from support for their participation at PROMOTE 2026 in Yaounde.
