SNH, China explore prospects of cooperation in upstream sector.

The National Hydrocarbons Corporation, SNH, and the government of the People’s Republic of China, have reviewed the possibilities of cooperating in the upstream sector. 

Discussions to this effect were held during a courtesy and working visit of a delegation from the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Cameroon to the headquarters of SNH, on April 16.



The delegation from the embassy was led by the newly appointed Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the embassy, Xiao Guofeng.

They were received on behalf of the Executive General Manager of SNH, by the Adviser No.2, Nathalie Moudiki.

Welcoming the guests from the embassy on behalf of the Executive General Manager, the Adviser No.2 applauded what she said is excellent relations of friendship and cooperation between both nations. 

Aside exploring prospects of cooperation in the upstream sector, both officials from both institutions also touched on issues relating to technology transfer, local capacity building, and the promotion of Made in Cameroon.

Nathalie Moudiki, on behalf of the Executive General Manager, reaffirmed SNH’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at strengthening investment and promoting mutually beneficial partnerships in the hydrocarbons sector.

Exchanges during the visit also touched on major ongoing development projects in the Kribi industrial-port zone. 

SNH officials briefed the visiting delegation on the progress of the CSTAR project for the construction of a modern refinery and an oil storage depot, as well as on the expansion of the KEDA ceramic tile production plant, to which SNH supplies natural gas.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of gifts, reflecting the shared commitment to contributing to the strategic partnership driven by the Heads of State of both friendly nations.
