In his address, Minister Mbairobe, on behalf of CPDM North Regional boss, declared that the unprecedented turned out of the population for the ceremony is proof of their undying affection to the ideals of the CPDM party and the leadership of President Biya.

“…we are gathered to thank and transmit our infinite gratitude to His Excellence Paul Biya, for having once again placed the North Region in the very closed circle of the Republic's sovereign institutions,” Minister Mbairobe said.

He was clear that by nominating His Majesty Aboubakary Abdoulaye to the highly prestigious position of President of the Senate, President Biya has “demonstrated, once again, his attachment to the North Region” and “proven his confidence in the sons and daughters of the North Region”.

For such an honour given to the region by President Biya, Minister Mbairobe said population, militants of CPDM, youth and women are all ready to show their gratitude through landslide victory of the party in upcoming polls.

Reflects on last election, prepares for upcoming polls

He said dual event was also an opportunity to express gratitude to supporters for standing behind President Biya in the last presidential election, their show of maturity during post-election violence and to reflect on how to consolidate victory in upcoming twin polls.

“We condemn with the utmost energy these serious attacks on democracy and blast the retrograde behavior of these ‘apprentice democrats, if not sorcerers’ who were led without reflection or balanced judgment into the pitfalls of social media,” he stated.

The minister reminded all and sundry that Cameroon, as stated by President Biya, is the “common heritage” of all, who must “work to build, solidify, and modernize it, and not destroy it".

He urged all and sundry to shun divisive tendencies injected in them by naysayers from the opposition and to maintain their grassroots penetration, expansion, and development strategies to consolidate the party’s position as a leader in the political chessboard.

Mbairobe called on all party supporters in the region to be vigilant, inventive, and resilient in the face of an increasingly competitive political space.

The victory of the CPDM in upcoming polls, he stated, cannot be obtained without the decisive contribution of youth and women, whom President has promised to prioritise in his current mandate.

Mbairobe seized the opportunity to cite in synopsis schemes which President Biya has ordered government to implement to promote youth employment and women’s empowerment.

Sets strategy for landslide victory in future polls

Minister Mbairobe also urged all regional authorities of the party to actively listen to the concerns of grassroots supporters, build trust and ensure the party’s orientations are fully embraced.

He also underscored the need for supporters to massively enroll on the electoral register, collect their voters’ cards, and encourage party loyalists.

The minister also harped on the need to maintain the "door-to-door" strategy adopted in previous elections and always "reflecting together locally" in tackling specific challenges as outlined by the party’s Secretary general.

“We have the obligation to meet, reflect, consult, and exchange to maintain a permanent, inclusive, and stimulating dialogue to better prepare for upcoming electoral contests,” he declared.

He also emphasised the need to respect party discipline which he said encompasses a set of behaviors, attitudes, and principles that guide the individual toward achieving common goals.
