Leading telecommunications operator in the country, MTN Cameroon, has been awarded the prestigious Top Employer 2026 certification.

The international distinction is granted by the Top Employers Institute in recognition of excellence in human resources practices and employee experience.

The award was presented on Thursday, February 19, during the Africa Awards and Gala Evening held in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The honour was received on behalf of MTN Cameroon by Rams Ramashia, Chairman of the MTN Cameroon REMCO Board; Bess Kankolongo, GM Regional Talent Leader WECA and Evangeline Biboum, General Manager Human Resources.

With an outstanding score of 91.58 percent, MTN Cameroon surpassed both the 2025 benchmark of 84.96 percent and the 2026 benchmark of 85.92 percent.

The result, according to officials, confirms the company’s position as an organisation where employees can thrive, grow professionally, and contribute meaningfully to business performance.

The Top Employer 2026 distinction, organisers of the award said, followed an in-depth assessment carried out during the second half of 2025.

The evaluation process, we gathered, included a structural review of human resources practices, audits of internal policies and documentation, and verification sessions to ensure alignment with international standards.

Key areas assessed included HR strategy, work environment, talent acquisition, learning and development, employee well-being, diversity and inclusion and organizational performance.

According to MTN Cameroon, the certification reflects years of deliberate investment in skills development, leadership capacity, managerial transparency and employee well-being. It also highlights the company’s commitment to placing people at the center of its business strategy.

“With the Top Employer certification, MTN Cameroon reaffirms its commitment to offering an inclusive and motivating work environment aligned with the highest global standards,” Evangeline Biboum said.

Biboum added that: “For 25 years, we have worked to build a corporate culture that values people, innovation, and performance. This international recognition strengthens our ambition to remain an employer of choice in Cameroon”.

She further noted that the award confirms MTN Cameroon as a future-fit, high-performing, and people-centered organisation that applies data-driven and independently validated HR practices while investing in employee experience, development, and well-being.

The Top Employers Institute, it should be said is active in 131 countries and regions, is considered one of the world’s most respected authorities in HR excellence.

In 2025 alone, it certified nearly 2,500 organisations, positively impacting more than 14 million employees worldwide. Standing out within such a competitive global network, according to experts underscores the standards upheld by MTN Cameroon.

Reacting to the recognition, Chief Executive Officer of the Top Employers Institute, Adrian Seligman, praised the company’s achievements.

By adopting a people-centered approach, MTN Cameroon enriches the world of work and promotes sustainable standards of excellence,” he said.

For to the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of MTN Cameroon, Wanda Matandela, the certification is both symbolic and strategic.
