Royal Flex 2026: Preachers, gospel musicians rededicate Mutengene to Jesus Christ.

Gospel music promoter, Emmanuel Nganyu, explaining goal of Royal Flex

A college of gospel preachers and musicians have rededicated the town of Mutengene and its surrounding communities and towns to the service of God with the goal of changing the negative image attributed to the town.

This was during a gospel music concert, dubbed ‘Royal Flex’. It which rallied thousands of people from Mutengene, Tiko, Likomba, Buea and Limbe at the Cameroon Baptist Convention, CBC, School Field on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

The all-night programme at the junction town brought together crowds for a night of worship, praise, soul-winning and rededication of lives through songs, dance, prayers and other artistic displays. Cameroonian gospel music promoter, Emmanuel Nganyu, convenes the programme yearly since 2019.

Speaking to the press during the ceremony, Nganyu said the programme was a revival event for the people of Mutengene and other neighbouring communities, bringing together a mix of young and experienced gospel artists, including gospel music legend, Elisabeth Tekeh, and veteran Nigerian gospel minister, Dr. Frank Edwards.

Other ministering gospel evangelists and musicians include Rochie Osvalin, Emma Gospel, Guy Michel, Danielle Biaka, and Prophetic Minstrel, Wirba Livinus, Rev Dr Ndeley Samuel, Rev Dr Kilu Peter, Bishop Tembi Alfred, Rev Paul Tom, Rev Teih Ivo and others.

Emmanuel Nganyu stressed that Royal Flex was not just an ordinary musical concert, but a revival encounter aimed at convincing people to return to Christ at a time when society grapples with several moral ills.

Taking to the stage, celebrated gospel Minister and musician, Elizabeth Tekeh, said heavens were open to listen and address the spiritual and physical needs of the people of Mutengene.

In her ministration, she urged participants to stand up against social ills including prostitution, adultery, fornication, stealing, and hypocrisy practiced both in the secular society and within the Church.

She enjoined Christians and unbelievers to reconcile with God, build a relationship with Him, reminding them only their trust, and believe in Christ Jesus could guarantee them a place in heaven.

“…those who die without Christ should not be consoled by church funerals, gospel songs, or prayers said at their burial, but rather should turn to God while still alive.

Sea of people during the programme

The type of burial, testimonies, holy water, anointing water and prayers said at funerals will not take them to heaven,” she said.

Speaking to the press, Emmanuel Nganyu explained that Royal flex was a vision from God since 2014 with the goal to announce Jesus Christ through sound because there is a revival looming in Cameroon and sound is its vessel.

Thus, he added that the yearly holy convocation remains a platform for a massive move of the spirit because redemption “puts things at our reach, but action put things in our hands”.

Commenting on the theme: “The violent take it by force”, drawn from the book of Mathew 11:12, he explained that taking by force is to ensure that people should use their faith and actions to achieve their goals.

On his part, renowned gospel artiste, Dr Frank Edwards, said the programme offered an opportunity to bring Jesus to the people in songs, dance, hymns, word and prayers, adding that it was an “encounter with God because we will be bringing Jesus Christ in different types of songs and sounds with the single goal of drawing souls into the kingdom”.

“…Jesus died for us and if we accept Him into our lives as our personal Lord and Saviour, He would enable us achieve our drive under His guidance,” he said.

The project prioritises projecting established artists and the mentoring of young ministers through teaching sessions for upcoming artists, the learning, training and communication of values during such sessions.

Thus, young gospel musicians were encouraged to study the word of God, so that they can also share it in their songs because one cannot give what he or she does not have.
