Bertoua: Student teacher reportedly killed by girlfriend.

A student of the Higher Technical Teachers Training College, HTTTC, Bertoua in the East Region, whose name we got as Tsimi Koumnda Alexandre Franck, is reported to have been killed by his girlfriend.

The tragic incident which has left the entire community, students and lecturers in shock, is said to have occurred recently in Dimako.

According to reports, the Level Five history student described by his peers as hardworking and full of life, died after a heated argument with his supposed lover.

Sources revealed that the incident took place around 10p.m. at a popular drinking spot known as “Escale Bar”.

The young man had reportedly gone there for relaxation alongside his girlfriend, with whom he had two children, and her sister.

What was meant to be an ordinary evening then turned into a violent confrontation. Initial investigations are said to suggested that as a heated argument erupted, the girl allegedly grabbed a bottle, smashed it on Tsimi’s head before stabbing him.

Witnesses recounted scenes of extreme violence and panic as the victim staggered briefly before collapsing as he bled profusely.

The suspect and her sister are said to have immediately fled the scene, leaving Tsimi bleeding on the ground.

Despite the swift arrival of emergency services, Tsimi, sources said, reportedly died on the spot from injuries.

Police are said to have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances under which Tsimi died and what sparked the reported quarrel.

Though the precise reason for the altercation remains unclear, preliminary indications are said to point to the argument that spiraled out of control.

Tsimi, according to sources, was expected to begin a professional internship in February 2026.

He was also said to be preparing to defend his final thesis in June, a crucial step toward realizing his ambition of becoming a history teacher.
