Turkish Ambassador expresses interest in Limbe Deep Seaport construction.

Volkan Öskiper made the revelation on Monday, January 26, 2026. This was during a courtesy visit to the Limbe City Council. He was accompanied by Honorary Consul of Turkiye to Cameroon, Senator Nfon Mukete IV Ekoko. 

The diplomat and team were welcomed by the Second Deputy City Mayor, Kountchou Emmanuel, alongside the Limbe City Council Secretary General, the Chief of Cabinet and other council staffs.

During the brief cordial exchange, Kontchou Emmanuel presented the city's potential and added the preference of many Cameroonians who are interested in doing business with Turkiye.

The Turkish Ambassador on his part revealed the admiration of his people towards Cameroon. highlighting that though football was the main attraction, his mission is to build a bigger bond between the two nations so that values and ways of life can be shared and better appreciated.

He further revealed that Turkiye is investing in small and large-scale projects in communities through its Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency, TIKA.

He also promised that the visit to the council wasn't going to be his last, as he left the Limbe City Council satisfied and with a continuation of his tour to other institutions within the city of Limbe.

The courtesy visit was in the course of his maiden visit to the South West Region since taking up duties in Cameroon. 

The Turkish diplomat also paid a visit to the United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, office in Buea, where he reaffirmed a strong partnership for children. 

During the visit to the UNICEF Buea office, the Ambassador took part in a working session on education, protection and opportunities for every child, and the handing of dignity kits to the girls.
