Serial author, Dr Chewachong, publishes book to grow faith of believers.

Rev Dr Chewachong: Author of Beyond the Pulpit

Renowned author and preacher, Rev Dr Amos Bongadu Chewachong, has added another publication to his already rich bookshelf.

His latest publication, “Beyond the Pulpit: Theology for Everyday Life”, which will soon be available on Amazon, was released recently.

The masterpiece, draws on Rev Dr Chewachong’s decades of ministry across continents, from Cameroon to the United Kingdom, UK, Europe and the Middle East to offer 100 rich reflections that bring scripture into conversation with real life.

Shaped by pastoral insight and refined through global crises like the COVID-19 pandemic, the book speaks directly to the questions, struggles and hopes of everyday believers.

More than devotional, Beyond the Pulpit, according to the author, is a practical manual for anyone seeking to grow in faith, repair personal failures and find deeper meaning beyond the pursuit of material success.

The book challenges the emptiness of chasing after things that don’t last, while encouraging restoration of relationships, emotional well-being, moral integrity and spiritual depth. Through biblical reflection, prayer and honest inquiry, each chapter helps readers develop both vertical (with God) and horizontal (with others) relationships that reflect wisdom, humility and grace.

“Whether you are a pastor, a student or simply someone trying to walk faithfully in a chaotic word, this book will guide you to live with greater prudence, love more deeply and walk humbly with God and with people” the author explained.

In an endorsement message, the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, Rt Rev Miki Hans Abia, described the book as a timely and significant contribution to both the PCC and the global Christian community.

The Moderator said Dr Chewachong’s book offers reflections that are theologically rich and pastorally grounded, drawing from Scripture and the breadth of ministerial experience.

“This work calls us to envision ministry not merely as proclamation from the pulpit but as the faithful embodiment of Christ’s message in the ordinariness of daily life” the church leader added.

For his part, the Synod Clerk of the PCC, Rev Ayuk Solomon Eta, said the book transcends geographical and ecclesial boundaries returning theology to rightful place: within the lived experience of faith.

He said through the book, Rev Dr Chewachong challenges both clergy and laity to embrace a form of discipleship that is consistent, holistic and grounded in every aspect of life, not merely articulated in Sunday worship but practiced throughout the week.

Rev Ayuk noted that the book stands as a vital resource for those seeking spiritual depth, direction and authenticity.

Taking the cue, Rev Dr Jim Connolly, Dundee West Church, Church of Scotland, said with pastoral sensitivity and theological clarity, Beyond the Pulpit invites readers into the sacred intersection between belief and daily living.

He praised Dr Chewachong for writing with a rare blend of devotional warmth and scholarly depth.

“It is a deeply moving reflection on Christian discipleship in a global context” he continued.
