Rising Cameroonian music star, Orlick Stone Ebue, also known as McStone Barry, is set to drop his new epic song titled, “One Family”.

The song which has already taken social media by storm, will be officially released Thursday, December 11, in the seaside resort city of Limbe, Fako Division of the South West Region.

The star-studded event to feature renowned singers and entertainers including Maxy Manorh, Android Man and Spaco Lee, will be hosted by Chopper Million.

Speaking on the latest project in an interview with The Guardian Post, the singer attributed the motivation behind the new song to his profound belief that love and harmony should be a liberating force.

The music sensation who has been composing songs for more than 27 years, noted that the thought-provoking concept behind the song will surely resonate with listeners, as it delves into the complexities of love.

With a sultry voice reminiscent of artists like Tupac and R. Kelly, who also happen to be his biggest role models, McStone Barry fuses folklore melodies and gentle afrobeat-inspired beats to make “One Family”, a single that is made for heating up the dancefloor or simply listening to over a strong drink.

The track offers a peek into the talented artist's style. Hailing from Weh, Menchum Division of the North West Region but raised in Kumba and Limbe, McStone Barry grew up with exposure to a variety of different music genres and fell in love with folklore, afrobeat and rap, citing Usher, Tupac, R. Kelly, as his earliest inspirations.

In tandem with professional music was his passion for writing and choral singing, which led him to begin writing his own songs at age 19.

From singing choir groups in the Presbyterian Church, McStone Barry was inspired by his mentor, Wende Wende Daniel of blessed memory.

He eventually entered the studio circuit, networking with different producers and fledgling artists in Limbe and beyond. During those early years, he cut his teeth as both a rapper and a singer in the Cameroonian music scene.

McStone says his inspiration for his soon-to-be realised song, “One Family”, was born out of the desire to unite the people of Weh, Menchum Division and North West Region as a whole.

He explained that: “One Family blends culture, love, peace and harmony. The song is aimed at uniting people because when there is love, there will be understanding, peace and absence of war”.

McStone Barry noted that: “The song has a very deep meaning. As a matter of fact, the Song titled One Family is song in the Weh dialect and English”.

“In the song, I am advocating harmony, togetherness and unity” he continued.

Pleading for support to grew his music career, McStone Barry stated “I can only succeed in music thanks to the support from the public. This can be through invitations to concert, shows, weddings, anniversaries… support too can either be through subscription to my YouTube channel”.

McStone Barry, it should be said, hails from Weh in Menchum Division of the North West Region. He was born on December 2, 1982 at the Kumba General Hospital.

The artiste was raised in Ikiliwindi and Kumba before moving to Limbe, where he is currently resident. The 43-year-old began music at a very tender age.

“I have always loved music. I started singing in the school choir while still in primary school. I also sang with the Young Presbyterian, YP group of the PCC. I later moved to Christian Youth Fellowship, CYF of the PCC. So, actually the presbyterian moulded me to become the great artiste that I am today,” he said of his journey into the music industry.

“I wrote my first song when I was 19 years old, that was when I lost my dad. From then on, I started performing in ceremonies and competitions,” he added.
