Tubah Council adopts over 6.9 billion FCFA 2026-2028 programme budget.

Councillors of Tubah Council in Mezam Division of the North West Region have adopted a programme budget of over 6.9 billion FCFA to span 2026 to 2028. 

It was adopted December 5, during a budgetary session at the Council Hall. 



The session was chaired by the Mayor of Tubah, Tanjong Martin, in the presence of administrative authorities.

The budget, which will run from 2026 to 2028, priorities development drive and aims at improving the lives of the people of the municipality.

Municipal councillors, during the session, deliberated and adopted the sum of six billion, nine hundred and seventy-nine million, nine hundred and eighty-one thousand, three hundred and thirty-two FCFA, balanced in revenue and expenditure and budget as budget for the 2026 to 2028 financial years.

For 2026, the budget stands at 3,979,988,332 FCFA, while in 2027, the budget stands at 2 billion 250 million FCFA, and for 2028, the budget is fixed at 250 million FCFA.

It should be noted that the 2026 budget which stands at 3,979,988,332 FCFA as against 811,311,396 FCFA in 2025, marks a percentage increase of 20.3%. 

Mayor Tanjong Martin, in his address during the session, detailed said the percentage increase is as a result of the Austria Soft loan programme with over 5 billion FCFA for the construction of a multipurpose shopping mall in Bambili, integrated health centres all over Tubah Subdivision and a modern market in Tubah all to be executed in the next three years. 

It also includes the construction of low-cost housing by Special Council Support Fund for Mutual Assistance, FEICOM, in Tubah Subdivision worth over 600 million FCFA, and road funds with over 70 million FCFA for road works in Tubah municipality.

The mayor cited the achievements made in areas of infrastructure development, road, digitalisation, networking, agriculture, education, health, tourism and the mortuary which is now active and bringing in income to boost the finances of the municipality.

Projects for 2026

Projects listed in the council's 2026 plan are: construction of Niba Atohnui reinforced concrete bridge in Bambui to cost 6 million FCFA; construction and equipping of Mamishang Health Centre in Bambili; construction of a reinforced concrete bridge linking Bafokum to Agric school to cost 7 million FCFA; construction of a bridge linking Buh quarter and the palace of Kedjom Ketinguh; construction of Fingwang bridge; construction of a bridge over the stream linking the health centre zone to Fenkoh quarter to cost 7 million FCFA.

There is also the opening of roads from Achi through Ntehmbang with four culverts; the extension of electricity to Ntan-Agham through GTC Ntigi; grading of roads from New Council Junction to food market to cost 700 million FCFA; installation of solar street lights at Cattle Market Junction and Small Babanki Junction; electrification of Sabga Integrated Health Centre; creation and equipping of a community radio in Tubah; Purchase of a Front Head Loader; construction of hygiene and sanitation monument in Tubah.

Additionally, the councillors approved the equipping of the Council building with administrative chairs and tables; pig and feeds to groups in Fingie; coffee cultivation in Tubah municipality; training of youths in Tubah municipality and support of youth farmers in Tubah municipality.

In his closing remarks during the session, the Divisional Officer of Tubah Subdivision, Narcisse Massango Metougue, encouraged councillors and staff to put on personal security as the year draws to a close. "Security is primordial for the realisation of these lofty projects," he said.
