To advance its mission: CABTAL Missional Complex goes operational in Yaounde.

The edifice was jointly dedicated by the CABTAL’s emeritus Board Chair, Rev Sokeng Alain Clement, and the Emeritus President of the Cameroon Baptist Convention, CBC, Rev Dr Nditemeh Charlemagne. This was in the presence of a college of clergy.

According to the Board Chair, Nze Jean Marc, CABTAL undertook the construction of the high-standard centre, designed to foster the spiritual and social growth of Christians and the language communities they serve with faithfulness, passion, and commitment.

Nze said the project aligns with CABTAL’s commitment to effectively increase its mission of transforming individuals and communities via the Word of God in their mother tongues. 

He also averred that in 2023, they took the first significant step with the development of CABTAL’s printing press, which now allows communities to receive their books just a few months after the translation process is completed. 

This, he added, is in contrast with the past, where there were delays in printing and shipment from abroad to Cameroon. 

“This building is more than just a building. It is not only made of bricks and mortar. It is a visible testimony to the faithfulness of our Lord Jesus Christ,” Nze said, before adding that “every wall bears the marks of our prayers and perseverance”. 

The Board Chair further explained that the complex is“a place where our teams will be able to work effectively and creatively, where our partners will find a welcoming environment, and where our organisation will be able to come together to share and learn”.

Going by him, the newly constructed complex is a symbol of its collective faith, perseverance and expansion of CABTAL’s work. 

Thanks predecessor, partners, members

Noting that the five-floor building serves as a beacon for CABTAL’s mission and vision in the years to come, the Board Chair thanked the members of the Board of Directors, the General Director and his entire team for their dedication and unwavering vision. 

He also expressed gratitude to partners for their generous contribution and his predecessors, especially the immediate past Chairman, Rev Sokeng Clément, who made the missional complex project his life's work.

Nze assured that the building is a spiritual legacy that represents the culmination of three years of planning, prayer and hard work. 

Enter CABTAL General Director

In his speech, the General Director, Dr Keyeh Emmanuel Lufang, said the inauguration of the complex marks a new chapter in CABTAL’s mission to bring transformation through language development, literacy, Bible translation and community development. 

“The CABTAL Missional Complex stands as a testimony of partnership of vision and divine provision. This milestone that we have today, strengthens the very roots of CABTAL, our service to language communities in Cameroon and our commitment to see individuals and communities transformed by God's word in their language,” he said.

Dr Keyeh disclosed that a number concerns and fears had been raised regarding the project, but they refused to be limited by what their eyes saw and decided to place their trust in God. 

The General Director said the building has two key facilities, notably a modern printing press and a guesthouse. 

“Our modern printing press enables us to produce interesting materials. It also enables us to produce other materials for community development and resources that can help our communities to continue to fulfil their dreams and not just have those materials but have the materials at an affordable cost,” he explained. 

“The complex also has a guesthouse of 16 furnished apartments designed to welcome partners, consultants, and community members in an environment that reflects the warmth and hospitality of our mission,” he added, noting that it is also disposed of a large space, capable of hosting three separate meetings simultaneously.

Fundraiser launched

During the event, a fundraiser was launched to raise the sum of 40 million FCFA for the purchase and installation of lift. So far, a total of 13.5 million FCFA has been raised. 

While calling on the support of partners, partnering communities and well-wishers to make symbolic contributions, the CABTAL management said they are in contact with a supplier to make available the elevator once the funds are raised.
