The project, which aims at facilitating the easy movement of persons and goods has been making significant progress.

In the meantime, other works such as the compaction of the soil, construction of hydraulic structures among others are ongoing.

The company's teams are also proceeding with the rehabilitation works while ensuring that the quality of the materials used are of good quality.

The company is also ensuring that the compaction of its various layers is perfect shape. On the field, heavy equipment have already been put in place. Caterpillars are currently compacting the soil from Mermoz to Sasse.

According to Public Works Ministry officials, culverts and drainage are already being constructed.

For the drainage works, significant progress has been made with nearly 3000m of 60x60 gutters already installed, and more concrete ditches almost completed.

The masonry facing are being installed while the prefabrication of T2 and Cs2 curves have been completed. This is same with the channel gutter, components and slabs for the remaining areas.

Besides the Buea-Sasse-Wotutu-Mile 4-Limbe stretch of road which is under rehabilitation in Fako Division, the Bekoko-Limbe-Idenau road linking the Littoral to the South West Region is also under rehabilitation.

The works begun at the end of March 2025. The work currently underway on the Bekoko-Limbe-Idenau section aims to replace culverts with drainage channels and repair potholes and damaged areas.

Two types of work are underway on the Bekoko-Limbe-Idenau section of National Road No. 3. It includes the replacement of culverts with drainage channels and the repair of the road surface.

The replacement of culverts involves demolishing the identified metal culverts and constructing drainage channels, with the aim of avoiding traffic disruption and improving the level of service on the 101.3 km section.

The SORCIPHARM – UNION ENTREPRISE consortium began work on site in March and its specifications include the construction of seven culverts, at a cost of 1,947,004,892 CFA francs.

The DIDON CONSEIL / EDJO'O ENGINEERING consortium is responsible for monitoring the work. The company's schedule provides for the installation of the technical block under the supervision of the control mission and the geotechnical control of the latter's geotechnical engineers and those of the company.

As for the road surface treatment work, this involves maintenance to improve the condition of the section, carried out by ECSB company.

As of 9 April 2025, the work carried out included excavation, filling potholes, treating wide strips with asphalt concrete and laying a pozzolan foundation layer at kilometre point 0+00.
