Ndu Subdivision: CAMTEL GM offers scholarship to over 1,000 students.

The General Manager, GM, of Cameroon Telecommunications, CAMTEL, Judith Yah Sunday epse Achidi, has for the second-year running, offered scholarships to some 1,022 students in Ndu Subdivision, Donga Mantung Division of the North West Region.



The vital assistance from the proud daughter of the soil and revered CAMTEL General Manager, targeted all Form One students in both public and private secondary schools across Ndu Subdivision. 

The initiative is said to have swallowed nearly 10 million FCFA. 

In all, 21 Secondary Schools benefitted from the largesse. 

The schools include PPSS Ndu, Islamic School Ndu, COTEC Ndu, King David college, GTHS Ndu, GTC Mbipgo, Baptist School Wowo, St John Bosco Ngarum, GTC Ntumbaw, JMBC Ndu and Islamic School Ntumbaw. Others include GTS Njila, GSS Mbawrong, GHS Mbipgo, GHS Kakar, GSS Ntaba, GBHS Ndu, GSS Ntamnruh, GHS Tallah, GHS Ntumbaw and GSS Sop.

The scholarship, it was gathered, will cover the full registration fee for all Form One students of public schools in the Subdivision, while those in private schools saw their tuition fee partially paid.

The timely financial assistance from Judith Yah Sunday was publicly presented during a ceremony, held yesterday at the Ndu Council Hall. 

This was in the presence of the Divisional Officer, DO, of Ndu Subdivision and a representative of the Mayor of Ndu. 

The beneficiaries, who came from across Ndu Subdivision, all smiled home after receiving the assistance. 

In its second edition, the scholarship, it was said, aims to boost school attendance in Ndu Subdivision. 

Through their representatives, beneficiaries of the largesse have thanked the donor while promising to produce excellent results at the end of the academic year. 

They also prayed that the scholarship initiative should become an annual routine.

 

Judith Yah Sunday: Woman with heart of gold

A woman of few words, Mafor Yah Sunday Judith epse Achidi stands distinguished as a beacon of hope and inspiration to today and tomorrow’s generations.

Achidi Judith, who wasn’t born with a golden spoon, is a building a legacy in Donga Mantung Division, through her tireless and indiscriminate philanthropic efforts. 

Over the years, she has successfully organised five editions of sports competitions, worth nearly a hundred million FCFA, provided didactics and scholarships to almost 5,000 students and pupils and sponsored the production of driving licenses for 1,000 bike riders in the entire Division. 

Her initiatives have not only promoted education and road safety but also fostered community spirit and development. 

She has endeared herself to the hearts of many in Donga Mantung Division, through her unwavering commitment to philanthropy. 

Her benevolent donation of farming inputs to women groups in Ndu Subdivision and the Free Health Campaign recently carried out in the Subdivision, in partnership with the Colonel Sunday Foundation, underscores her holistic approach to community development, encapsulating a synergy of education, safety, and socio-economic empowerment that indelibly enhances the fabric of society.

By creating invaluable employment opportunities for her people, she has not only transformed the lives of countless young individuals but also infused a new wave of energy and purpose into society. 

Her selfless dedication to nurturing the potential of youth of Ndu Subdivision, her admirers say, is a testament to her exceptional character and far-sighted approach to community development and youth empowerment. 

 

 

Inclusive approach to community dev’t

Judith Yah Sunday’s support to Ndu Subdivision, has been inclusive. She has virtually impacted all sectors of public life.

The CAMTEL GM this year, sponsored a sensitisation campaign on the use of the ring road for Motorcycle riders of Donga Mantung Division during which they underwent an examination to obtain category A drivers’ licenses.

At least 1,000 biker riders have benefited from the initiative. Similarly, in August this year, Judith Yah Sunday together with the Colonel Sunday Nfor’s Foundation offered a free medical campaign in Ndu with hundreds of persons benefiting.

Patients who came from all the corners of Ndu Subdivision benefitted from free medical awareness sessions, general medical examinations, prenatal and gynecological consultations, voluntary screenings, minor surgical interventions, distribution of hygiene kits, health and peace education workshops, dental care, ophthalmological examination with offer of glasses and distribution of maternity supplies for pregnant women. 

This year's campaign which lasted two days ran from August 29 to August 30, at the Ndu district hospital. Mafor Yah Sunday Judith epse Achidi's altruistic endeavors have profoundly resonated within the Donga Mantung community, where her unwavering dedication to empowering young minds and promoting societal well-being has yielded a lasting legacy. 

Through the orchestration of five successive sports extravaganzas, boasting an aggregate value of nearly a hundred million, alongside the conferment of didactics and scholarships upon approximately 5,000 deserving students, her initiatives have catalyzed a paradigm shift in educational attainment and social mobility.
