At epic party in Maryland, USA: Cameroonians fete veteran diplomat, Dr Nkwenti Ignatius @80.

Cameroonians drawn from all walks life across the world have celebrated the life of veteran diplomat, Dr Nkwenti Ignatius, as he clocked 80.

The celebrations took place in the State of Maryland, United States of America, USA, on Saturday, October 25. 



Special guests in attendance number over 500 Cameroonians. Among them were; Dr Nkwenti's children.

Attendees used the event to testify about Dr Nkwenti’s unique impact as a man who for several years dedicated his life to the service of his fellow countrymen in the Cameroon embassy in USA.

The plenipotentiary diplomat is known to have spent fifteen years spanning 1981 to 1996 at the Cameroon Embassy in the USA.

Well-wishers and those present at the ceremony thanked God Almighty for granting Dr Nkwenti long life. They praised him for his mighty works and indelible mark in their lives of compatriots.

"We appreciate what you have done for us as individuals and families as a whole in your service," one of the speakers stated.

Others said Dr Nkwenti’s long years on earth have not been wasteful, but very useful in the service of humanity. 

Many confessed that the services of the senior diplomat were far reaching, touching countless lives. They described him as a man who lived an exemplary life worth emulating.

The native of Mankon in Mezam Division, North West Region was overwhelmed by the mammoth presence of family members, friends and well-wishers. 

In appreciation, he thanked his children for organizing the grandiose event to celebrate him while he was still alive. He equally expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who took out time to celebrate him.

He disclosed that the celebration was brought to his knowledge at short notice but said he was marveled at the number of persons who took interest in celebrating him.

"My mother died at the age of 101. I therefore wish that God should grant all of you such long life," Dr Nkwenti prayed. The birthday party culminated the next day with a thanksgiving mass in church.
