At GeCAM’s Economic Forum in Yaounde: CNPS DG schools business operators on good governance.

Director General of CNPS, Mekulu Mvondo, giving a lecture

The Director General, DG, of the National Social Insurance Fund, CNPS, Noël Alain Olivier Mekulu Mvondo Akame, has edified economic operators on the role good governance plays in both the public and private sectors.

This was the focus of a presentation Mekulu Mvondo made at the 1st edition of the Economic Forum dubbed: “Cameroon Economic Meetings”.

The event was organised recently in Yaounde by the Cameroon Employers’ Association, GeCAM.

Mekulu Mvondo made the presentation during a thematic workshop on governance. It was largely attended by top managers.

The high-level economic and strategic forum, organised by GeCAM, took place on February 26, and 27, 2025.

It held on the theme: “Relaunching the Cameroonian economy in the context of profound changes in the global economy: what are the keys?”

In attendance were economic decision-makers, experts and political players.

CNPS, in its capacity as the State's secular arm for social protection and a particular player in the country's economic recovery, was at the heart of strategic exchanges at the forum; aimed at revitalising the national economy in a rapidly changing global context.

In his presentation on the theme: “The place of governance in the competitiveness of public and private entities”, Mekulu Mvondo, drawing from his over 30 years of experience at the highest level of management, proposed concrete solutions that can boost business competitiveness, encourage investment and ensure sustainable growth.

According to the DG of CNPS, the current principles and rules of good governance accepted in the formal and legal sphere today, although useful and necessary, would, nevertheless, benefit from being re-examined and adjusted to African culture and economic realities. This, according to him, will have a real correlation with business and managerial performance.

Still at the forum, a team of seasoned professionals represented CNPS in Business to Business meetings, for constructive exchanges with employer partners, who were reminded of their social obligations.

According to the CNPS, taking an active part in these strategic exchanges for the Cameroonian economy, highlights its commitment to helping its employer partners contribute to the sustainable economic development of Cameroon and Central Africa.
