Guinness Super League: Ita Mbong returns to top five as FC Ebolowa dominates.

North West Region football club, Ita Mbong FC of Nkambe are back in the top five of the Cameroon women’s division championship dubbed Guinness Super League.

This follows their 1-0 win over Caiman Filles of Douala in a match day 11 fixture of the championship this season. The encounter was played at the University of Bamenda stadium Wednesday.



Ashley Ngome Ndifon’s 41st minute goal which turned out to be the lone goal of the encounter, ensured Ita Mbong bagged all 3 points of the match.

The win which was the second in a row for the club, catapulted them from the sixth position on the classification table to the fourth spot.

With a record of five wins, five defeats and a draw in 11 matches since the start of the 2024/2025 season, the club now counts a total of 16 points.

Ita Mbong are currently ranked just below current league leaders and defending champions, FC Ebolowa; vice champions Lekie Filles and Amazone FAP occupying the top three spots after 11 match days.

 

FC Ebolowa widens gap at top

Defending champions of the league, FC Ebolowa increased the gap at the top by 3 points after their immediate rivals, Lekie Filles dropped points on match day 11.

The two teams were separated by just one point before last weekend’s matches. 

While FC Ebolowa who were on 28 points defeated Vision Foot 2-0 at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo, Lekie Filles were held to a goalless draw by Cyclone FC of Douala.

The current standings leave FC Ebolowa, unbeaten so far, with 31 points on the first spot while Lekie Filles maintains the second position with 28 points.

On their part, Amazone FAP increased their points tally to 23 after a 2-1 win over Éclair Filles and continue to sit third on the league standings. The defeat saw Éclair dropping from the fifth position with 14 points.

Elsewhere, Louves MINRPOF suffered a 1-3 defeat to Dja Sports Academy while Authentic Ladies of Douala overpowered AS AWA 2-0. 

It should be noted that a total of 13 goals were scored on match day 11 of the 12-club championship. The bottom three positions in the league are occupied by Authentic, Cyclone and AS AWA.
