For contributions to climate resilience, sustainable dev’t: Immaculate Construction Co. Ltd gets another distinction.

Leading civil engineering and real estate development firm in the North West Region, Immaculate Construction Co. Ltd, ICON, has yet again been distinguished for outstanding contributions to climate resilience and sustainable development.



This is particularly in the domain of infrastructural development, smart habitats, and sustainable real estate development.

They received the prestigious climate resilience award from the Cameroon Climate Journalism Network, CCJN. This was during an award ceremony organised in Bamenda. 

According to CCJN, ICON Engineering’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure design, low-carbon construction materials, and climate-resilient infrastructureearned it a reputation as a leader in the sector.

“ICON Engineering’s work is a shining example of how civil engineering can be harnessed to build a more resilient and sustainable future,” said Tamukong Roland Akong, Founder and Coordinator of the Cameroon Climate Journalism Network. 

He went on to add: “Their commitment to climate resilience and sustainable development is inspiring, and we hope that their example will motivate others to follow in their footsteps”.

ICON Engineering’s climate-resilient approaches involve designing infrastructure to withstand projected climate-related stresses and hazards. 

Their projects incorporate green technologies, renewable energy sources, and energy-efficient materials to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The company is also developing innovative solutions for green infrastructure that reduces carbon footprints.

In her remarks after receiving the award, ICON Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Tim Immaculate epse Koti is a huge motivation and a call for them to double efforts in integrating climate-resilient approaches civil engineering works and real estate developments.

…To me, receiving such an award from an organisation whose members I don't even know only means one thing: that a lot of people are watching me,” she said. 

“Our team works tirelessly to develop and implement sustainable solutions that not only reduce the carbon footprint of our projects but also enhance the resilience of our infrastructure,” Tim Immaculate added.

She disclosed that they are shifting from building with conventional roofs to green roofs to combat climate change in the sector. 

“We are building houses of the future which help to reduce carbon footprint in construction... We do not just think long-term in our designs; we think next generation,” she affirmed.

Engr. Immaculate is a civil engineer and founder of Immaculate Construction - ICON Company Ltd. The licensed Real Estate Developer is driven by a passion to overcome infrastructure challenges and improve development in her community. 

With over a decade of experience in the building and construction sector, Engr. Immaculate has established a proven track record of successful design and construction projects. 

These include classrooms for primary and secondary schools, Ventilated Improved Pit (VIP) latrines, and residential buildings in the North West, West, and Littoral Regions of Cameroon. 

Additionally, she has supervised construction works at Bamenda University, including amphitheatres, student hostels, classrooms, and sports complexes.

Engr. Immaculate’s commitment to innovation and leadership has earned her numerous recognition and awards. In 2019, she was selected as a TechWomen Fellow, an international exchange program for women in STEM sponsored by the US Government. 

Through this program, she exchanged knowledge and culture with her host company, Cahill Contractors, in San Francisco, USA. Engr. Immaculate is also a co-founder of Women in Engineering Cameroon, an organization dedicated to promoting STEM education for women and girls. 

She is a equally a Certified John Maxwell Team Trainer, Coach, and Speaker, passionate about adding value to people and promoting leadership development, team building, and effective communication.

As a dedicated mentor, Engr. Immaculate has served in the GoodBiz program, supporting Black entrepreneurs and small business owners in Tyler, Texas, in partnership with the Global Good Fund organization, USA. She holds a record of at least 10 awards won at the national and international levels.

Some of them include; UN Women's Empower Women Global Champion for Change (2017), 2023 Africa Excellence Award for Best Infrastructure Construction Company and Women-Run Construction Company of the Year in West Africa by MEA Markets

She also won the 2017 Award for Africa’s Most Influential Woman in Business and Government in the Building and Construction Sector by CEO Global in South Africa.
