After Fako, Meme: PM mobilises Manyu, Lebialem & Kupe Muanenguba for Biya.

PM poses with Manyu delegation

The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Dr Chief Joseph Dion Ngute, has mobilised key voices in Manyu, Lebialem and Kupe Muanenguba Divisions of the South West Region, to ensure surpassing victory for the Head of State, Paul Biya, in the Sunday October 12 presidential election.

The Prime Minister held separate audiences with delegations from the three Divisions in Buea, last Saturday. The delegations included local elected officials like councillors, mayors, Regional Assembly councillors, parliamentarians, traditional rulers and some high-ranking public officials.

During meetings held separately with the different delegations, the PM emphasised the critical stakes of the election for the South West Region, and urged attendees to unconditionally rally behind Biya’s candidacy.

The meeting with the three Divisions was the culmination of mobilisation by the Prime Minister, to ensure his Region of origin gives Biya a landslide victory, come October 12.

It should be recalled that the grassroots works had started on July 26, 2025, with delegations from Fako and Meme.

Speaking to the press after the meeting with the Prime Minister, Minister Victor Arrey Mengot, who led the Manyu delegation to the strategic gathering, said it was the coronation of efforts on the ground to keep supporters politically engaged.

He explained that Manyu Division, on September 5, 2025, held a strategic and stock taking meeting in Mamfe, during which preparations were also reviewed. The meeting with the PM like the one in Mamfe a week earlier, he said, have given them new impetus and perspectives.

The meeting with the PM, he stressed, “ has come to put the dressing on the cake and he has come as somebody looking from the top to bring his own support to us and encourage us that we are on the right path. He can only accompany us to victory, come October 12, 2025”.

He said the only goal now is for everybody to vote for the CPDM candidate at the October 12 poll, despite the security challenges the Division is facing.

Minister Mengot stated that Manyu Division is facing challenges with electricity after the generator supplying electricity blew up. The lack of generator, he stressed, presents a serious challenge for the population because it means they can no longer have portable water. However, he reassured his people that it is a challenge that would be addressed soon.

Minister Paul Tasong, the head of the Lebialem delegation, told reporters that the meeting was an opportunity for the Prime Minister to assess how prepared the Division was to vote President Paul Biya.

After the meeting, he said, “we arise feeling totally fired up and ready to do what it takes for President Biya to win”. He explained that they shared with the Prime Minister, how far preparations have gone and the challenges they are facing in the context, environment, and time within which the crucial election is going to hold.

Tasong stated that: “He gave us his words of advice, encouragement and promised to do what he can within his own powers to accompany us meet our targets and objectives, come 12 October 2025”.
