Meme Lawyers Association elects new exco bureau.

Dr Ebollo and his team will manage the affairs of the association for the next two years. The mandate is renewable once.

Before the voting proper, the Returning Officer, Senior Barrister Teku Collins Oben, spelled out the modalities of the election. 

He also read out the list of lawyers practicing in Meme Division. The roll call indicated that there are 147 lawyers in Meme Division. When the votes were counted, Dr Ebollo Emmanuel Musango, who ran unopposed for the position of president, secured 103 votes.

Speaking to the press at the end of the exercise, Dr Ebollo Emmanuel saluted the transparent, free and fair nature of the election, adding that ballot box has won.

He also thanked his colleagues for the confidence bestowed upon him, especially as he ran unchallenged. He reiterated his campaign speech to use the law as a moral instrument to rewrite the wrongs of the association.

Also speaking to the press, the Returning Officer who represented the Cameroon Bar, Senior Barrister Teku Collins Oben, also saluted the peaceful and orderly conduct of the election, which he described as the triumph of democracy.

Senior barrister Teku Collins Oben, also appealed to the new MELA, to bring every lawyer on board. Dr Ebollo Emmanuel Musango and his nine-man executive, took over from the previous exco headed by Barrister Asu Alfred.

Dr Ebollo Emmanuel Musango, will be assisted by Barrister Aba Nelson Mbi as Vice president, Tabi Evaristus as Secretary General and Akwo Ngoh David as Assistant scribe. 

Other members of the executive include Alemji Elvis as Financial Secretary and Arrah Elizabeth as Treasurer.
