Public service minister urges staff to master career management platform, AIGLES.

Minister Joseph Le receiving 2025 best wishes from collaborators

The Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform, Joseph Le, has asked collaborators to master the new personnel and payroll management application known by its French acronym as AIGLES.

This, he said, will boost public service delivery as government continues to modernise services.

Minister Le made the call in Yaounde Thursday. He was speaking at the 2025 annual conference of the Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reform. The conference was organized under the theme: “The new personnel and payroll management application software (AIGLES): for more effective management of the state’s human resources”.

The event was attended by staff of decentralized and devolved services of the ministry. The staff also used the event to present New Year wishes to Minister Le.

Minister on need to master AIGLES

Minister Le said AIGLES also helps in the electronic archiving of documents. He said it must be mastered by all personnel of the ministry. This, he said, is imperative to boost public service delivery.

Minister Le said the government has invested enormous resources to make the software work and staff must ensure it serve its purpose.

According to him: “It would be absurd for a public service user to be faced with a manager at the public service ministry and asks for assistance in using one of the software package’s functions, and for the manager not to be able to provide it”.

Three key presentations were made to staff on the functioning of AIGLES during the conference. The first was on the platform’s modules for career management with emphases on optimizing administrative processes.

The second touched on modules for payroll management. Attention here was on an integrated approach to payroll management.

The third presentation focused on human resources management modules with focus on improving organization and communication processes.

Context, advantages of AIGLES

To note that AIGLES was officially launched on January 1 this year. The platform is a digital system that replaced the human resources and state payroll management platforms ANTILOPE and SIGIPES.

The new system, the minister said, centralizes the management of the career of State personnel, salary and pension data. The goal, he stated, is to ensure consistency, reliability and traceability, reducing the risk of errors and irregular practices.

The minister said AIGLES equally gives room for real-time processing and rapid management of administrative procedures. Added to this, he said, is the automated processing of promotions with immediate financial effects, a modernized user interface that is accessible and intuitive for everyone involved and a permanent monitoring of the presence of staff at their posts via biometric terminals.

AIGLES game-changing tool

While encouraging civil servants to embrace the platform, Minister Le opined that AIGLES is a game-changing tool.

“AIGLES is a tool for real, far-reaching transformation, repositioning Cameroon’s public administration in a dynamic of performance and excellence,” the minister remarked.

He said the application “corrects the limitations of the old systems, while introducing major innovations”.

Enter New year wishes

Before staff shook hands with the minister to wish him the best for 2025, the Secretary General, Anatole Maïna, read a speech. The gathering was also animated by the presentation of gifts to staff going on retirement. Meanwhile, distinguished staff were knighted.
