After pipe rupture: CAMWATER swiftly restores water to affected Bamenda vicinities.

Engineers working on affected spots

Residents of Ntamulung, Mulang and Nkwen neighbourhoods in Bamenda, North West Region, have expressed gratitude to the Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation, CAMWATER, for swiftly restoring water supply after disruptions.

Pipe borne water was restored to the neighbourhoods last Wednesday, August 27. The intervention followed intensive maintenance work by technicians of the potable water supply company.

Locals said the CAMWATER-led maintenance work ended several days of them staying without pipe-borne water that was already affecting their daily lives.

The trouble, they said, began on August 21, 2025, when a vehicle, belonging to a road construction company, damaged pipes that supplied water to the affected neighbourhoods.

Some victims of the destroyed pipes said water stopped flowing from their taps, immediately the accident happened. Many residents of the areas recounted that they had become anxious, especially those with big families that require a certain volume of water daily.

A resident in one of the neigbourhoods said they became stretched, given that children started trekking distances to look for water for house chores.

In the face of complaints from people in the affected neghbourhoods, the CAMWATER team is said to have worked tirelessly to repair the broken pipes. At the end of the works, locals burst into jubilation, saluting CAMWATER management for swiftly acting within days, to address the situation.
