Mayo Banyo Division: Disgruntled CPDM supporter decamps to Tchiroma's FSNC party.

In a resignation letter addressed to the CPDM Section President of Banyo North, Hassan said he was formerly of the Mbewere I cell.

Citing his CPDM membership card acquired on December 8, 2007, Hassan recounted that for several years, he has been sidelined from contesting for election positions.

He recounted that from the time he joined the CPDM till his resignation, each time elections are being organised and he plans to contest, party officials always ask him to be patient. 

This, he lamented, was happening meanwhile he started militating for the CPDM since 2002 even without attaining voting age. 

When the party’s basic organs were reorganised in 2007, Hassan said he became a member of the Mbewere cell and by 2014, he entered the youth wing of CPDM Mayo Banyo North.

He recounted having laboured in 2013 for the CPDM, convincing several young people to join the party. 

In the same year, he said he wanted to be a municipal councillor but his file was blocked by local party officials for reasons he doesn’t know. Hassan said the only thing he was told is to be patient and wait for future elections.

During the February 9, 2020, municipal election, he said his file was totally rejected by local party officials when he attempted again for the third time to be councillor. 

Despite the disappointment, Hassan said he exercised patience and didn’t leave the CPDM. When Regional Council elections were organised in 2020, he decried that no young person was invested by the CPDM in his area.

When the basic organs of the party were being reorganized again in 2021, Hassan said he was frustrated by comrades despite his experience from being the head of the youth wing of the party in the said section.

He said having given his all for the CPDM and suffered several rejections, it has dawned on him that he has no future in the ruling party. 

Images have since flooded the social media showing Hassan and some of his acquaintances with Issa Tchiroma who is running for the October 12, presidential election.
